It’s impossible to predict the future, but only an idiot would bet against The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 making a crap ton of money this fall. The first two Hunger Games movies made enough money to turn star Jennifer Lawrence into the Guinness world record holder as the highest-grossing action heroine of all time, and the third looks on track to be just as big if not bigger.
Especially since Lionsgate is not holding back on the marketing. Hot on the heels of an epic new trailer, we have several high-res stills, featuring Katniss, Gale (Liam Hemsworth), and more. See the new Hunger Games Mockingjay Part 1 images after the jump.
Lionsgate debuted the new Hunger Games Mockingjay Part 1 images at The Hunger Games Exclusive.
Gale appears to be playing a much more central role in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1, after fretting over his pal Katniss from a distance in the last two movies. Meanwhile, Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) is MIA because he’s still in the clutches of the Capitol, led by the cruel President Snow (Donald Sutherland).
Cressida is among the more prominent new characters featured in the new film, and the new stills offer a much better look at Natalie Dormer‘s badass style. Her special job in the District 13 is shooting propaganda videos starring Katniss — though the heavy weaponry on display suggest she’s just as good at shooting with a gun.
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 opens November 21, 2014. The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 opens November 20, 2015. Then the countdown to the inevitable Hunger Games remake / reboot / spinoff begins.
