'Ghostbusters' Gear Featurette Discovered On Paranormal Studies Lab Viral Site

This morning brought the first trailer for Paul Feig's reboot of Ghostbusters, and as someone who is a huge fan of the original franchise, I don't think it looks half bad. Sure, the humor is over the top, but I'm fine with this having a different comedic tone. But I think the ghosts look cool, the action looks entertaining, and I love the new Ghostbusters gear.

Speaking of which, a viral website has just revealed a featurette that dives into the science and making of the new proton packs. And if you think they just slapped these packs together to look cool, think again. Because the guy who made these proton packs is a resident particle physicist at MIT,  and he really took the time to think about the science of how the proton packs would work. It's extremely nerdy.

First, here's how the website ParanormalStudiesLab.com was discovered:

In the shot that features the white board, the top equation actually spells out the website. And if you go explore the site, you'll find images of the other new Ghostbusters gear, such as the new ghost trap, PKE meter and the Ecto-1, along with cool little schematics of each item that might help you if you're planning on doing some cosplaying as the new Ghostbusters. Here's the new ghost trap below, and you can see the other images at the website.

But the coolest thing there is the aforementioned Ghostbusters featurette, which you should definitely watch:

The update technology is one of the things I like the most about the new Ghostbusters, and I'm just hoping to be entertained by this movie. I'm not expecting it to be the same style as the original Ghostbusters, because I already have that movie on my shelf. This looks like something familiar and new at the same time, and I'm just hoping for the best. I know Kate McKinnon already looks like my favorite character, especially with those cool new ghostbusting pistols she has.
