There’s a good chance, if Disney ran the seven-minute short film Frozen Fever, in theaters on its own, it would be a massive hit. Frozen Fever is the first sequel to the massive box office and cultural hit and it’ll be attached to Disney’s Cinderella when it hits theaters on March 13. So now fans will get to see the continuing adventures of Elsa, Anna, Olaf and Kristoff as well as a full, feature length film.
The first photos from Frozen Fever have now been revealed, giving some glimpses at what these characters are doing now that the kingdom of Arendelle has stopped being Frozen. Check out the Frozen Fever pictures below.
UPDATE: We’ve now added a Frozen Fever featurette too. See it below.
USA Today revealed the first Frozen Fever images. Here they are:
First Frozen Fever Pictures
In the short, Elsa (Idina Menzel) is throwing her sister Anna (Kristen Bell) a birthday party. However, Elsa gets a cold – which is not a normal thing when you can control the winter like she can. Of course, Kristoff (Jonathan Groff) and Olaf (Josh Gad) are along for the ride. The photos give a good sense of the short – the playfulness between the sisters – Olaf and Kristoff part of the family. It seems like a good continuation of the happy ending of the original film, which has grossed over $1 billion worldwide.
There will also be a new song by the Oscar-winning team of Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez. Odds are it won’t be Let it Go but, for parents who’ve had to wear out that soundtrack, anything new will surely be welcome.
UPDATE: Here’s a Frozen Fever Featurette:
Frozen Fever will be in theaters March 13 along with Cinderella, directed by Kenneth Branagh. Here’s the Frozen Fever press release:
From Walt Disney Animation Studios comes the new animated short “Frozen Fever,” welcoming back to the big screen Anna, Elsa, Kristoff and, of course, the one-and-only Olaf.
Directed by Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck, and produced by Peter Del Vecho, with an all-new original song by Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez, “Frozen Fever” marks the first project reuniting the Oscar®-winning original team from Disney’s “Frozen.”
The announcement was first made within the ABC Television Network special “The Story of Frozen: Making an Animated Classic,” which aired September 2. The special also featured the world television debut of a scene from the new action comedy adventure from Walt Disney Animation Studios, “Big Hero 6,” as well as a sneak peek at the upcoming season of the ABC series “Once Upon A Time.”
In “Frozen Fever,” it’s Anna’s birthday and Elsa and Kristoff are determined to give her the best celebration ever, but Elsa’s icy powers may put more than just the party at risk.
