Briefly: After taking a bit of time to beat up Nazis and dabble in TV, Eli Roth is returning to his feature directing work next year with The Green Inferno. Open Road Films has just scheduled the cannibal horror pic to open on September 4, 2014. The only other film currently set to open that day is Addicted, a sex addiction drama starring Boris Kodjoe.
Written by Roth and Guillermo Amoedo, The Green Inferno follows a group of New York City student activists who head into the Amazon jungle to save a remote tribe from extinction. Once they get there, however, they discover that the people they’re trying to protect are a bunch of cannibals who want to eat them. Oops. Lorenza Isso, Ariel Levy, and Daryl Sabara star.
