Early Buzz: 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier' May Be Marvel's Best Yet

Marvel has had a pretty good track record over the past several years. The eight Cinematic Universe films so far have received good to great reviews from fans and critics alike; even relative duds like Iron Man 2 were merely disappointing instead of flat-out terrible. But if the first responses to Captain America: The Winter Soldier are to be believed, Marvel may have just hit another new high.

A wave of Twitter reactions hit last night following a press screening of the movie, and they ranged from great to totally effing amazing. More than one person declared that this could be Marvel's best movie yet. Seems like a huge compliment considering that the roster also includes The Avengers and the first Iron Man. Hit the jump to get the early buzz.

Which sounds really positive, right? But because Germain's tweet actually points out some minor flaws, it actually falls on the more negative end of the spectrum. That's how across-the-board awesome the reactions are. One person even called it perfect.

The wave of hype was so powerful, even some innocent bystanders got pulled in.

As usual, keep in mind that these are instantaneous 140-character reactions, not carefully considered reviews. Still, even if Captain America: The Winter Soldier turns out to be something less than totally perfect, it's clear that Marvel fans are in for a big treat.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier lands in theaters April 4.

After the cataclysmic events in New York with The Avengers, Marvel's "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" finds Steve Rogers, aka Captain America, living quietly in Washington, D.C. and trying to adjust to the modern world. But when a S.H.I.E.L.D. colleague comes under attack, Steve becomes embroiled in a web of intrigue that threatens to put the world at risk. Joining forces with the Black Widow, Captain America struggles to expose the ever-widening conspiracy while fighting off professional assassins sent to silence him at every turn. When the full scope of the villainous plot is revealed, Captain America and the Black Widow enlist the help of a new ally, the Falcon. However, they soon find themselves up against an unexpected and formidable enemy — the Winter Soldier.
