A bunch of LEGO builders decided to recreate a sequence from The Lord of the Rings in LEGO. The idea quickly expanded into trying to recreate all of Middle Earth, spanning the three books/films. The resulting collaborative build was on display at BrickWorld 2011 in Wheeling Illinois, where it won “Best Group Layout”.
The impressive creation spans from Hobbiton, to the town of Bree and the Inn of the Prancing Pony, Rivendell, the mines of Moria, Isengard and the tower of Orthanc, the Golden Hall of Edoras, the beacon towers, Helm’s Deep, the Pellinor Fields, Osgiliath, Minas Morghul, the Black Gate of Mordor, Mount Doom, and the tower of Barad-Dur.
