Jack Huston Now in Talks to Lead ‘The Crow’

Jack Huston the Crow

The remake of The Crow has turned into a revolving door for talent, with a parade of writers, directors, and actors being attached to the film in various capacities before falling off again. Not long afterwards Luke Evans also moved on, due in part to the change in scheduling and story approach that came with the director change.

Now Jack Huston, perhaps best known for his role as a scarred assassin on Boardwalk Empire, is in early talks to star. Read More »

new alien film

Neill Blomkamp debuted his ideas for a new Alien film via concept art that very clearly showed Hicks, the hero from Aliens who is killed in the opening shots of Alien 3. And his first comments on video about the project, released yesterday, seemed very clear. “There’s Alien, and Aliens, then this film,” he said. That, along with comments from Sigourney Weaver about giving Ripley’s story a proper ending, all made a clear point: this upcoming film will basically ignore Alien 3 and Alien: Resurrection.

But now Blomkamp says his intent is not to undo the third and fourth movies — it’s just that he wants his film to connect to Alien and Aliens. Read More »

The Riot Club

Every generation needs its preppy boy drama filled with up-and-coming faces. For the late ’80s and ’90s, it was Dead Poets Society. In the aughts, it was The Skulls. Now, in the twenty-teens, it might be The Riot Club.

Max Irons and Sam Claflin play the two newest members of Oxford University’s most exclusive fraternity. Though the upper-crust clique lives for debauchery, things take an ugly turn when one particular evening veers out of control. Lone Scherfig (An Education, One Day) directed. Douglas Booth, Natalie Dormer, Holliday Grainger, and Jessica Brown Findlay also star. Watch The Riot Club trailer after the jump.  Read More »
