Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice responses

There’s only one thing bigger than the news about Superman, Batman and the rest of the DC movies coming from Warner Bros. over the next few years. That would be the size of the set currently being built in the deserts of New Mexico.

A New Mexico news station caught some fantastic footage of a massive set being built for Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. What could it be? Check out the Batman v Superman set footage below and decide for yourself.

Thanks to KOAT (via The Hollywood Reporter) for the Batman v Superman set footage. Be aware. Though there are no discerning marks on the structure, the simple fact of its existence might be considered a spoiler.

According to the fans over at Comic Book Movie, they believe this could be something from Paradise Island, Wonder Woman’s homeworld. However, will that mesh with the origin of Wonder Woman in the film? We don’t know.

It could also be the secret lair of Lex Luthor, maybe the eventual home of the Justice League, or another random building from the film that has no direct connection to any specific character. In reality, that’s probably the most likely explanation. If it was something spoilery or secretive, there would have been some more security measures.

My guess is this set will play some part in a battle scene and, over the course of the shoot, be destroyed. Think the Smallville scenes in Man of Steel. A full area that the characters fight in and around. Maybe not Batman vs. Superman per say, but possibly Wonder Woman vs. Lex’s henchman or something like that. Again though, that’s just a guess. This structure definitely has some gravitas toward it and we’ll know more once it’s completed and the actors come to town.

What do you think we’re seeing here?

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Jesse Eisenberg, Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne. Written by Chris Terrio, it’s directed by Zack Snyder, who’ll follow this film up with a two part Justice League movie in 2017 and 2019. This will also introduce Aquaman, Cyborg, the Flash and many others.
