Arnold Schwarzenegger Believes 'Terminator 5' Will Start Filming In January 2014

Jumping off the recent news that the rights to the Terminator movies might head over to Paramount, the star of the franchise has a potentially exciting update. Arnold Schwarzenegger was at a conference in Australia and said Terminator 5 should start filming in January 2014. Plus, he added he'll be back playing a Terminator, not just a human side character. Read the quote below.

The quote was reported by Arnold Fans, via Coming Soon. You can listen to it by downloading this audio. It's toward the end of the 8 minute clip.

I'm very happy that the studios want me to be in Terminator 5 and to star AS the Terminator, which we start shooting in January and I'm also going to do King Conan – to play that role and also to do another Twins movie. So I feel very proud of that. I feel very happy and I'm looking forward to doing those films.

While this all sounds well and good, there are a few things to remember here. The first is Arnold's big return to the screen, The Last Stand, did not do well and that gave investors pause. Second is, even if Paramount picks up Terminator 5, they don't have a director yet and that person could have a major say over when the film could shoot. And third, Arnold has been saying "Terminator 5, King Conan and Triplets" for years. While the first two are most definitely in some sort of development, none have an authentic greenlight, and that means they're still years away.

But – if Paramount is on board and Arnold thinks he's shooting in January, it's completely plausible. Do you believe him?
