Don’t let your chest burst open from nerdiness, but it’s officially Alien Day! In honor of LV-426, there are all sorts of celebrations happening today including double feature screenings of Alien and its sequel, releases of new memorabilia, and a handful of new collectible prints from a few different artists.
Today Bottleneck Gallery has three new prints that are going on sale. One of them may be more difficult to get than the other two, but if you’re a fan of artwork by Laurent Durieux, Mark Englert and Chris Skinner.
Plus, Mondo has two new vinyl releases featuring the scores for Prometheus and Aliens. Get a look at the Alien Day artwork and the Mondo vinyl releases after the jump.
First up is Laurent Durieux’s gorgeous print inspired by the original 1979 Alien:
This one shows the Nostromo crew exploring LV-426, making it the perfect piece to be released on Alien Day. The regular version (left) is a nine-color screen print with an edition of 550 that will cost $65 while the variant is a nine-color screen print with metallic inks and has an edition of 225 and costs $85.
Both prints measure 24″ x 36″ and will be available to reserve at Bottleneck Gallery’s special screening of Alien happening at Syndicated BK in Brooklyn, NY at 10pm ET tonight. Sadly, the screening is sold out, but you can still check out the Alien activities in the lobby starting at 8pm ET. There will be giveaways for pins, prints and toys provided by NECA, so even if you can’t go to the movie, you might get some cool stuff, including being able to make a reservation for the above prints.
In addition to the above versions of the print, there will be a metal edition available only at Syndicated the night of the screening. There will be 20 available to the general public and another 20 available to ticket holders. The 24×36 metal print will cost $250 with a total edition of 50 available.
Otherwise, the unsold regular and variant prints will be on sale at Bottleneck Gallery’s website on Wednesday April 27 at 12pm ET.
Don’t worry if you can’t get to this screening to get ahold of that print, because there are two more that will be available for purchase online starting today at 12pm ET.
There’s this new print from Mark Englert:
Both prints will be on sale starting at 12pm ET today. The regular version (top) is a seven-color screen print with a timed edition that will remain on sale until April 27th at 1pm ET. The print will cost $50, and however many of them are sold are how many will be printed. Meanwhile the variant is a seven-color screen print with an edition of 225 that will cost $65. Both versions measure 12″ x 36″ and have a glow in the dark layer that you can see lit up right here:
Finally, here’s the third print for Alien Day, created by Chris Skinner:
This is a six-color metallic screen print. It measures 12″ x 36″ with an edition of 175 that will cost $45. This one will also be on sale starting at 12pm ET today.
