Chicago 7I like many people I’ve met was a huge fan of Aaron Sorkin’s Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip. Apparently none of us have Nielsen boxes, and the show has been canceled. Sorkin is still very busy in Hollywood, and has signed a deal to write three films for DreamWorks. The first film will be The Trail of the Chicago 7, a drama that Steven Spielberg hopes to one day direct.

The film will focus on the famous 1960’s trials of protesters of the 1968 Democratic convention in Chicago. I saw a docudrama on the events at Sundance called Chicago 10. It mixed archival footage with computer animated sequences to show what happened on camera and off. This story is ripe for Aaron’s fast moving dialogue.
