Alvin and the Chipmunks

20th Century Fox has announced that a third film in the live-action/cg hybrid Alvin and the Chipmunks franchise will hit theaters in 2011. Titled Alvin and the Chipmunks 3D, the film will hit theaters on December 16, 2011. The film will be up against Steven Spielberg’s The Adventure’s of Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn, which opens one week later on December 23rd.

Lets just be glad they aren’t trying to find another play on the words Squeak and Threequel or Squeak and Three-D. The first two films grossed over $791 million worldwide. No other information has been released at this time. Do they have a script? Do they need a script? Is a director attached? Do they need a director? I’m kidding… kind of. I would expect that most of the cast will return (can you say payday?), including the Chipettes.

I love the squeakquel and the first one sooo much!! I can't wait for the third one. I just really hope they dont mess up the 3d thing and I think they can do better with the name too. Like I think Christina Applegate (Not sure how 2 spell it) or Anna Farris said on an interview that they would name it Squealagy! And the guy who plays Toby said Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Furred. Children would be anticipating for this film to be shown in theaters next year and being on 3D will surely add to the excitement. So, a week after a Spielberg film will be shown as well? This seems to be a good and healthy competition of quality films.

One more franchise Fox has screwed over. "Squeakquel" was crap that somehow morphed into a full length movie. Dave got injured, so then the trio have to stay with some old lady, then she got injured, so then the Chipmunks stayed with some slacker. The Chimpets get scammed or something. And for whatever reason the old woman from "Just Shoot Me" has a Chipmunk tattoo. WTF

I demanded my money back, with no luck. That movie probably tops my list for most wooden acting and just plain awkward moments. Though the first was fairly good and I liked it, "Squeakquel" made me question if anyone during filming actually put in five minutes of effort.

I purely was wanting to see something. I thought heck, first was "decent" I'll go ahead and this one. It was two days or so before New Years and I had already seen "Up in the Air" and "Sherlock Holmes". Definitely my worst experience of 2009.

Hopefully audiences learned a lesson from "Squeakquel" if they went to see it, and this one will bomb.

Sorry but there might be a chance that it aint going to be out as I read this on wikipedia:
20th Century Fox had announced that "Alvin and the Chipmunks 3-D" would be released worldwide on December 16, 2011. [7] The announcement was reportedly made without the Chipmunks’ permission—as Janice Karman reportedly sued the studio for lost royalties and intellectual property theft, a move seconded by Ross Bagdasarian Jr., who has cancelled the Fox/Bagdasarian licensing agreement over the studio’s unwillingness to consider the Chipmunks a real band during the postproduction of Alvin and the Chipmunks.[8]
So I hope Ross Bagdasarian Jr comes to agreement somehow to release Chipmunks in 3-D
