Vadoskin’s Trailer Cut: Volume 1 a breathtaking montage made up of fragments from the trailers of 50 recent films, edited together to look like one giant 4-minute trailer, with some sweeping music added. Most of the films featured were released in 2009, but there are also a few clips from movies released in previous years. Watch the video after the jump, followed by a listing of the songs and films used in the cut.

    This defines what make trailers such great fun at the same time that it proves that you can have too much of a good thing. I felt winded by the end of it.

    An editing masterpiece.

    It reminded me that even though story is integral to film, art is a strong aspect as well. Even movies like Max Payne (which had a horrible story) had amazing visual appeal. Who can argue that a handgun covered in snow being fired isn't badass looking?

    IGN is so overrated... And I hate aspect ratio changes.
    But it's a pretty good edit.
  • Instead of viewing it as just throwing all the action scenes together, when the period pieces came in I was thinking it was the first Apocalypse movie that covered the WHOLE world. What happens to the natives that still live in the old ways when the aliens invade? Do they fight back or do they just give up? I like to picture it was them fighting back and it made the most action packed actiony action movie ever more interesting.

    Really dumb. Especially doesn't work when they use period piece movies with modern stuff. Any chimp could cut together a bunch of action scenes with thematic music and call it good. But whats the point...

    Any chimp could be trained to do any job in cinema, frankly. The point is that this person actually did the work and cut it together, and did it well. And that point means he just got a little better/more trained in editing, and has something to show/possibly get work with. Given all the other crap out there in the internet (and also how much of it is poorly edited), no point in belittling somebody who executed a trailer equal to, if not better than, the majority of other official trailers out there (though I admit that's not saying much...).

    I LOLed when the Pineapple express snip-its came up, seemed so out of place.

    This just shows how cliched trailers have become. Every single action movie, fantasy, thriller or sci-fi movie always has this montage of shots with fast edits set to the same supposedly epic music. Come out with something new!
