Cool Stuff: Adidas Originals Star Wars Collection

In November, it was revealed that Adidas Originals were going to team up with LucasFilm for their Spring/Summer season line, which will include a special Star Wars collection of footwear and apparel. At the time, we only had a glimpse at some of the shirts and sneakers — but now we have a much better look at the whole line. Check out the photos after the jump.

According to StarWars.com, the first season collection will be split into three packs:

  • Characters Pack: This pack takes the most iconic moments and characters from the Star Wars saga and brings them to life across five sneakers, two short sleeve T-shirts and the Superstar Track Top.
  • Vehicles Pack: For this pack, we have taken inspiration from the well known vehicles and crafts from the Star Wars saga and translated them to our five most iconic adidas Originals sneakers and two key adidas Originals apparel models. Across these models we have paid homage to the distinguished features of airborne crafts and land based vehicles from both sides of the Force and executed them to appeal to both adidas and Star Wars fans alike.
  • Direct Pack: Darth Vader and the Stormtroopers appear in this pack as well as in the Characters pack. Also, the Women’s Game Mid silhouette that appears here is inspired by Princess Leia, featuring gold detailing paired with a modern high-top silhouette with matching apparel.

You will begin to see some of these pieces hit Adidas Originals stores and other select retailers in January 2010.

NOW THESE are how to properly take a property and make some good garments. The only misstep are the Vader shoes but everything else is just dope!
Way better than those 59Fitty New Eras, and even Ecko's hood wear.
The Zip-up Falcon is pretty slick.
What is most impressive about this collection is that these are very fashionable unlike those New Era hats where truly most of them you can only wear them at SW conventions.
Very nice collection, addidas comes through again. Similar to their Ali line I would say.

It's funny… Adidas have nailed the “feel” of Star Wars here far better then Lucas has done with the prequels and kiddy animations.

I really like the X-Wing pair and the X-Wing Pilot pair.

I want all of them, no joke.
Well, maybe except the Darth Vader one. That design is a flop.

Flawless! Invokes the feel without shouting “I'm a huge Star Wars fanboy” at everybody.

A picture of Heath Ledger, a reference to 9/11 and an inflammatory posting?

How are we supposed give you the attention you so obviously crave if you continue to hide behind the anonymity of the internet?

I'm sorry, but any shoe that is inspired by the AT-AT and looks badass MUST be purchased. And they will.

The Vader track top has a cape hanging from the back… a cape! You'd look like a special needs child walking around with that on. FAIL. Everything else is awesome though, I definitely want some of those sneakers.

You “Fanboys” love to rag on the prequels. You think you could have done a better job? Go out and do it. Oh, I forgot, you're a no talent hack who is only capable of gripping on the internet. Go and fudge yourself!

Everybody rags on the prequels (not just fanboys) because they were balls. Big hairy balls. Big CGI'd hairy swinging balls -so stop trying to defend the indefensible because you have a small penis and think you're smarter than everyone else, you're not.

I agree! They really messed up on the Vader themed products. That track suit looks like a costume you buy at walmart. The shoes look like knock-off Air Jordans, the ones that just says “Air”. Even the New Ear hat for Vader looks terrible. For one of the most iconic characters in this franchise the stuff that is coming out looks really stank!
I mean, how can you do a great job with an AT-AT design and not Vader? Seriously?

I have got to get a pair of the X-Wing pilot shoes. They even say “Skywalker” on the side. But where are the Boba Fett themed shoes?

  20. Grace

    10th December, 6:25pm

Indeed! Where is the Boba Fett theme, full stop?

    Underwhelming, to say the least.

Puma's 'Japanese Monster' pack from earlier this year is far better.

I suppose, given my ridiculously small testicles, that my opinion is to be derided, but I must concur with the eminently educated Dr. Gonzo above.

Of the six movies, the prequels were the most deficient and most lacking.
Where the prequels convey content and pacing with special effects, the original trilogy have to make due with acting and character development.

In addition, I feel the prequels ruined some aspects of the original trilogy by identifying “chloromidians” as the source of the “force”.

But that's just me and my small testicles talking, I suppose.

Carry on, oh big swingers of various penis sizes.
