  • It looks AMAZING!!!!! I can't wait to see this movie!! This trailer is going to be on the dvd!! I will be re-watching it a million more times after I buy the dvd tomorrow! This movie is going to be EPIC just like the book!!!
  • Very much exited to watch the deathly hallows Movie. half blood prince was awesome specially the special effects. superb acting by Daniel, Rupert and Emma. I wish them all the best for their next one.
  • I don't like how they're just using Harry Potter for money, but if they're gonna do two, at least they can take it much more in-depth and add much more detail than they might have done with one.
  • bird
does anyone know what the whole fighting scene is where they show harry ron and hermione running thru a forest? i dont remember that in the books...
  • The best movie, is a pity that the series ends and we are looking forward to this final installment
  • chucklevision
ye y has the video been removed????!!!!!!!!!1
  • cwl
y has it been removed!!!! :(
  • This was a trailer for both films, therefore it did not say "Part One" or "Part Two", rather just "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows"....
  • This truly does excite me. Though, I cannot judge it just yet...as it was only 50 second trailer. And, Nov 2010 is way too long to wait. Though, I guess it'll be a good graduation present for me since I graduate around then.

ok am im the only harry potter that hated "The half blood prince"??
  • LuvRonShirtless
When I was reading the book and got to the "splinching" part I was hoping they would include it in the movie because it would bean I would get to see Ruper/Ron shirtless. I'm glad to see they kept it and boy is he white :P

Can't WAIT!!! One More Year :(

I knew that there would be more Twilight bashing on this thread, as if the haters couldn't focus on it more. I like Harry Potter *and* Twilight. Seriously, calling a diverse group of fans "Twitards" is both an insult to people who you don't know and mental retardation patients. I could generalize the Harry Potter fans, too, but I'd rather not make myself look rude.
  • Czar Peter III
Is that OLLIVANDER talking about the Deathly Hallows? If so, I am going to throw a fit.
  • JP
Yes, throw a fit and prove why some people don't like insane fans that can't accept that its not the book.
  • What more can I say other than Ohmigod can I watch it yet?
  • jrice73
Absolutely RIVETING! The first six books, and I love them dearly, are just an appetizer to what Deathly Hallows brings to the table. Deathly Hallows is THE ultimate Harry Potter book, a tour de force that takes us into their very haunted and very fragile world of the human heart only to let us discover that there is something truly remarkable about the power of forgiveness and the power of absolute, endearing love. It is truly a great piece of literature.

I hated hated hated Half-Blood Prince. I'm the biggest HP fan I know and I was disappointed in DH on my first read, but its slowly become my favorite book. I hope its the best movie.
  • Tetsuo_Man
(Maybe Spoilers) I just love the "you're immortal if you possess the Hallows" bullshit. All of them prove themselves to be 100% useless and none of them have anything to do with granting any form of immortality.

(I hate the book if you haven't guessed, love the series though)
  • bridget
I'm confused as to what you're talking about. The Deathly Hallows did come in handy.
    ***Major spoilers***

Harry's been using the invisibility cloak for years and it's saved his life and gotten him out of trouble multiple times. The resurrection stone didn't bring anyone back to life but it let him see his parents which helped him get up the courage to confront Voldemort. Finally it was because of the elder wand that Harry was able to defeat Voldemort. The wand belonged to Harry and not Voldemort so when Voldemort used the killing curse against harry with the elder wand the curse rebounded on him. Then in the end Harry used the elder wand to restore his original wand because it's an unbeatable wand and the only one able to do it. The Deathly Hallows definately came in handy. He obviously got rid of the elder wand and the resurrection stone but he didn't do it because they were useless. He did it because he didn't seek immortality or power. That's not the kind of person Harry is.
  • Tetsuo_Man
Okay first, the cloak is cool, and yes Harry uses it a bazillion times... but it's obviousilly not "uncommon" seeing as how Dumbledore mentions "other ways" to turn invisible in the first book and even Ron (who is a poor mofo) knew what a invisibility cloak was... of course Rowling pulls a 180 and explains Harrys is only special because it will never lose its power. However, it's usefulness is very limited... mostly because you have to be under it the entire time and trying to shoot spells and hold up a bedsheet with both hands is very hard to do. Also, in no way shape or form does it grant either immoratality, or invulnerability (which is what a Hallow IS SUPPOSE TO DO.

    2. The ring... the most USELESS item. All it does= let's you talk to dead people. Even then, while you could most definitely gain some rather particular valuable insight (like battle plans or information on the enemy), Harry uses it to say 'hey' to mom and dad before he goes off and DIES! INCREDIBLY USELESS... NOT POWERFUL... IT DOES JACKSHIT.

    3. The elder wand. While this COULD be useful, and basically save the deathly hallows reputation for being 100% badass wizarding awesomness... it fails on so many many levels. First, how does it "wand" better then other wands??? Rowling just gives up trying to explain this one... all we know is that it supposedly is undefeatable but even that's rather vague. Especially because Dumbledore did just that to acquire the wand in the first place. Not only that, but the wand has SERIOUS ownership issues/faults. If I steal your wand, but you just so happen to ALSO be the owner of the elder wand... the elder wand is now mine (because, supposedly, I must have defeated you by stealing your wand). This makes no sense whatsoever. First, Harry didn't duel malfoy, so much so as just rip the wand out of his hands and run away. If that's all it took for Harry to gain "ownership", Voldermort would have easily gotten it from just stealing the elder wand from Malfoy in the first place.

IT DOES NOT MATTER WHAT HARRY "MEANT" TO DO WITH THE HALLOWS... It matters that they couldn't have helped him become more of a "ultimate wizard Super Saiyan" more then his regular wand could have.

Two minutes ago it was fine but now it's taken down?!
    Can someone re-up this?
  • MarkoP
Who's the midget in the chair?
  • clickofalight
if i answered you, i might cry thinking of poor dobby...
Wiki "deathly hallows' and you'll know - plays an important role... i couldn't do the explanation justice.
  • Mousie
    That's Griphook, show some respect!!
  • Ash
Spoilerz lol -Griphook, some goblin who helps the kids break in to Gringotts bank.
  • Swarley
That's Griphook, he's a goblin. Except, Warwick Davis (who plays Professor Flitwick as well) played a different goblin in the first movie during the Gringott's scene, and after the first movie they made his Flitwick look a lot like that goblin, so I find it really odd that they decided to get him to play Griphook instead of just getting someone else. Also, did anyone else know that Verne Troyer was the original Griphook in the first movie? Because I had no idea until I looked it up just now.
  • Kensei
Can't wait for this to come out really glad they're doing it justice so far as well as splitting it into two films instead of trying to cram it all into one.
  • "If it really is true, then you don't stand a chance."

    ...Shit.
  • That's why I love Harry Potter. He's put to the test numerous times and stands againt REAL threats, like to the point he almost dies. Twilight, and even Percy Jackson, have no chance.

Here's to hoping that Deathly Hallows Part II will pull a Return of the King and get Best Picture.
  • Nokoo
I sincerely doubt it will get even close to Best Picture, unless they continue the trend of 10 nominations.
  • iec
    to the point that he...does...die.

    :O SPOILER!
  • thanks men show the contents brother enjoyed very good
  • Solid
Harry's become a big man now like me. I was little like him in the first movie, then as he grew up so did I. now we're both sexy young men ready to spring forth and make babies of our own. Come to me, girls. Come ride my broom stick.
  • iec
I thought...Guillermo Del Toro was directing...? When did this change? I'm behind on my Harry Potter news.
  • GORT
DelToro was rumored, so were Peter Jackson & Spielberg
  • tim
Oh please, spielberg is just living off his name from his old movies...i'll take the current director or Chris Columbus again...but Columbus left after the 2nd for directing because he was away from his family for too long so i don't know if he would be interested again.
  • Swarley
Are you, perhaps, confusing this with the Hobbit, which he's writing for?
  • iec
    http://www.slashfilm.com/2008/01/08/guillermo-d...

Ah, I guess this is all I saw. I took this to heart and didn't hear anything else about who was directing, so in the back of my mind I always thought it might be him.
  • presto117
change? he was never, ever attached to it. it was merely rumor. in fact, i've never heard that rumor and i'm a HUGE potter nerd.
  • Meli_V
November 2010 is too far away!! My anticipation is high, but when watching the final chapter it'll be a little sad too. All these years following the movies it'll feel a lot like when I read the final pages of the seventh book.
  • A movie split into two parts is going to be the movie Harry Potter has deserved all along. Also let's hope it isn't another romantic comedy... I liked Prince, but they really took too much away from it.
  • Albeit impressive, it looks like more of the same to me. I guess that's the point of a franchise, though. I'll need to go back and re-watch the most recent films before sitting down to this one.
  • shadow
You could argue it looks bad, but certainly not more of the same. The locations and situations portrayed in this trailer aren't covered at all in the other films.
  • RosanatorDA
i think your judging way too early, its a 50 second teaser. lets way til we see the full movie, or at least a real trailer before we fully judge it.
  • Joey
the 50 second trailer... entertained me more than the whole 2 hours of New Moon did...

I dont see where the whole "twilight taking over Potter" thing is coming from
harry potter is farr superior to twilight...
    book and movie wise

cant wait for the last movie...
    looks incredible
  • So true in every way.
  • A trailer featuring John Hurt. Loved it. Hopefully these will actually be good. =\
