Wow . . . chess feels like it could fit into Lost somehow. I never thought of that before.

i had that thought last season with the whole Jacob and ManInBlack bit. there was an implication that Jacob brought the ship there. and then his moments with the various folks. and the notion of rules and loopholes. it just felt like they were the players in a game. if not chess then perhaps Risk (Australia is the key)

Way cooler promo than the one that ABC is airing. And the whole idea of chess fits in so well with Lost especially with the concept of two sides.

I honestly feel the Spanish made it a lot more bad ass. Like something out of a myth or fairy tale. Reminded me of the voiceover in Pan's Labyrinth actually.

That said, I quit the show after season 2, which I thought sucked hard compared to fantastic Season 1, and apparently it's gotten a lot better since then. I might have to check this out again.

FUCK. YES. This gets me so pumped for the finals season. That juxtaposition of chessboard/radiohead/narration makes for a fucking awesome teaser trailer. I'm sure the U.S. version will just be the fucking ABC voice over guy talking about how it's the final season and it'll fit the pieces of the puzzle together, blah, blah, blah, but damn this gets me excited.

im glad they are taking the non spoiler approach and i hope they keep it as quite as possible like most seasons, one of the reasons i loved the shield because even though i hate spoilers i cant stop myself some reading or watching the videos

This is the best-written television show analysis I've ever read on this site. I just finished watching the last season, acquired on rental from Netflix, so it will be a year before I see *this* season, but I'm saving this article in my delicious bookmarks so I can read it then. Well done.

Hey, thanks for an awsome review. This is a job that the promo's team of channel cuatro offered boolab.tv. There was a pitch of several directors and it ended up in my hands (all the other boards were amazing), we did so much viewing of the last two seasons of the show, so much rotoscoping, so many palm trees in 3D... that when the promo was done we had a bittersweet taste. The people at cuatro (iñaki Marticorena) had the idea of using Jorge Luis Borge's poem on chess. We couldn't get the rights to use it and we stumbled onto Omar Khayyám's poem, it was amazingly written and had just the words that we needed. The rest was just hard work, for a mere 40 seconds piece.

WOW! So you're the director? You should post this and the promo creating experience on the biggest lost fansite http://darkufo.blogspot.com/2009/11/new-season-... where it can reach more fans. It is interesting that a spanish channel put so much effort in creating a promo whereas ABC (the network which creates LOST) has not done anything extraordinary so far in terms of promos.

Don't throw stones at abc, they are the ones making LOST... and that's way bigger than any promo ;)
