we have this boxset in the uk - only not it comes in a plain box - and no booklet and little extras - but then it cost me £13 new so i'm not complaining

i bought this for 100 dollars. burn.

buy this. a worthy box set it is.
  • I own this boxset (paid only $60, got it at 40% off last year at Borders so I don't feel bad). If you have the money and love Hitchcock, this is a must buy. It's missing Strangers on a Train and North By Northwest, but makes up for it with Rear Window, Psycho, Vertigo, The Birds, and my personal favorite, Shadow of a Doubt.

It's an awesome DVD collection at any price.
I paid double when it came out a few years ago.
All film and bonus features are great - one of the best DVDs that I own

Should I be worried about a possible upcoming blu ray box set? Or can I rest assured that it's not coming for a while.
  • The Blu-Ray set will be crazy expensive at first, and Hitchcock films aren't necessarily the films that would benefit the most from HD. The DVD quality suits them just fine.
  • Name
Yep, if they are getting rid of the boxes for cheap, you can bet Blu-Ray Hitch is coming. Like mentioned, the quality of the standard DVDs are fine.
  • Curse you, my lack of credit cards.
  • It's a shame though they aren't releasing his films in a systematic way. One box set for British films, one for early Hollywood films, one for later Hollywood films. It would be nice to have a real archival collection.
  • If ever a box set deserved the title of 'Masterpiece Collection' it's this one.
