lee unkrich

At San Diego Comic-Con 2009 yesterday, we got a couple more details about Toy Story 3, which will be directed by Pixar veteran Lee Unkrich (Finding Nemo, Monsters Inc.). I had the opportunity to sit down with Lee yesterday and talk about his new film, as well as Pixar’s approach to sequels, and whatever happened to that version of Toy Story 3 that Disney was making without Pixar’s blessing. Hit the jump to hear what he had to say.

Throughout the years, I have seen and loved the Toy Story movies. And it's great that finally a third TS film'll be out soon. But before that they'll re-release TS1 & 2 in Disney Digital 3D in October.

    LONG LIVE THE TOYS!

I wish you guys would take off your blogger hats during these interviews and stop wasting the time you have with these guys trying to break an inconsequential story about the plot. You know they aren't going to tell you and you aren't going to trick them into it.

And stop calling everything a property. It makes you sound like a douche. It's /film not /property.
  • I like that you ask "tougher" questions that we all want to know in a respectful, unaggressive way.

Also, way to work your way through my list of heroes in a single weekend there lol

He said all the original cast is coming back, so they must be rising him from the dead as a voice actor zombie.

I thought Andrew Stanton directed Finding Nemo and Pete Doctor directed Monsters Inc. ?

Pixar typically has a main director on a project and occasionally have one or more co-directors. In Lee's case, he co-directed Toy Story 2, Monster's Inc., and Finding Nemo.
