Want to know when new trailers for Where The Wild Things Are, Sherlock Holmes, Fantastic Mr. Fox, Jennifer’s Body and District 9 are scheduled to hit? We have some updates after the jump.

The new trailer for Spike Jonze’s Where The Wild Things Are will premiere attached to Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, which hits theaters on July 15th 2009. JoBlo is reporting that the trailer will run one minute and thirty three seconds, a bit shorter than the first trailer. I’m sure it will be cut to appeal to the younger Potter demographic.

Also, a new 2+ minute long trailer for Guy Ritchie’s Sherlock Holmes will also be attached to the new Potter film. I’m sure that trailer will also be edited to appeal to the younger demo (more action/comedy Pirates-style), which is smart because in my experience, the older demo hasn’t been taking to it.

Originally there were rumors that the first trailer for Wes Anderson’s animated Fantastic Mr. Fox would be attached to Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs. As you’ve probably figured out by now, the trailer was not attached. So right now, I have no idea when the trailer will hit. Anyone have any ideas? The movie isn’t scheduled to hit theaters until mid-November so there is still a lot of time. The next possible sighting would be Fox’s hybrid Aliens in the Attic on July 31st.

Your first chance to see the trailer for the Diablo Cody-scripted Megan Fox teen horror film Jennifer’s Body will in front of Sacha Baron Cohen’s Bruno.

And Sony will be premiering a new two minute and twenty one second trailer for District 9 attached to Bruno (and online next week). JoBlo has a good description of what it shows, but I’m going to wait to see it on the big screen or online myself (I don’t really see the point of reading a description of a trailer).

I'm over trailers. They really ruin flicks. Although, I admit it, Where the Wild Things Are trailer made me cry.
  • MickJ
I'm trying to get over them, I'm usually excited to see something new.

And then they LITERALLY show the entire movie. No intrigue whatsoever, just here's the Cliffs Notes, come watch. WtWTA was one of the best in a while though.

Just like how the Moon trailer completely gave away the movie...oh wait it didn't.
  • Jennifer's Body poster looks just like the True Blood poster. WTF?

    wat the...
    they snubbed true blood's poster!

  • hopefully fantastic mr fox will be attached to something that i would actually be going to. i just want to see how it will look and if i could even enjoy it being a wes anderson fan. i'm not big on most 3d kids movies aside from some pixar. and i'm sure i'll be seeing bruno next week.
  • I've grown so accustomed to good trailers being attached to bad movies (i.e. Dark Knight attached to I Am Legend) that I have all but given up on waiting for trailers on the big screen. My laptop is good enough for me.

Fuck all this, where's our Avatar trailer?
  • joker47
I'm sure we will see the Avatar trailer before the actual Avatar movie.
  • Wiimo
Avatar Trailer? James Cameron will just talk about it for an hour. Don't make him put another audience to sleep!
  • Cormac
    Sheesh that was terrible!
And he wouldn't even show a single screenshot during all that talking...
  • Beer
Right. Six paragraphs of non-news about trailers that don't yet exist. What a waste of time.
  • Why is the Jennifer's Body poster 100% identical to True Blood?
  • The dude
More like 99%. On the true blood cover the bloods dripping from the left side of her lip. Silly goothse!

Coincidence. They made those posters months and months ago. And nobody has backed down, and made changes to THEIR posters. So now we have the same poster, advertising to different entertainment entities.
  • I don't care about seeing anymore of these trailers. I want a real trailer of TRON 2 in HD dammit! Tell me when _that_ is coming out.
  • A shame about Fantastic Mr. Fox, hopefully it comes soon. Even a teaser would be sweet. Can't wait for Bruno. For some reason the prospect of the Jennifer's Body trailer is intriguing and certainly the new D9, too. I just pray the movie's everything I hope it can be.

Can't wait to check these all out.

I have a bad feeling about Where The Wild Things Are. Everybody is talking it up, but it could be a huge train wreck.
  • mr fox is gonna rox
  • Is it just me for is Megan Fox just "blah" on the screen? She gives off no heat or sensuality. She's like a plastic doll and has about the same emotional range too. She's not even that hot. I see plenty of regular women on the street way hotter than her any day of the week

But I also agree that Drag Me to Hell should have been a R rated movie and they should have released it in October or have waited until late winter or early spring which is when most horror films tend to do better. It was up against too much competition.
  • The man-hater theme could sell it--along with Fox and Cody's dialogue, which is not being used as a selling point in the trailer, for whatever reason. It also looks genuinely scary. I'm convinced Raimi's super-smart Drag Me to Hell would have done BETTER with an R-rating. It confused people as both soft and comedic.
