Uh, yeah, am I missing something? Why was Charlie Brown happening during the podcast?
  • I'm about halfway through, and the musical interlude has given me hope that-- at long last-- the podcast will end with Dave, Devindra, Adam, and Matt singing:

"LOOO LOOO LOOOOO LOOO LOOOOOO LOOO LOOO LOOO *gasp*
LOOO LOOO LOOOOO LOOO LOOOOOO LOOO LOOO *gasp"

As great as that would be, I'd also be kicking myself for missing out on the live stream, featuring Dave Chen dancing on Schroeder's piano.

"explain why Christopher Nolan directing the third Batman film would be a no-win situation"

yes oh mighty film gods...please explain to us peons, that which we could never ourselves ponder, and must follow without question...

kinda loftily and negatively laying out decrees before the thing even starts pre-production, dontcha think? however, if you guys know something about batman 3 (or filmmaking in general) that christopher nolan doesn't - i'm all ears.

relax, i'm just bustin' chops...but also kinda serious.

It's comments like these that make me wish I could give a thumbs down. Goddammit I miss IntenseDebate.
  • jason B
because i think its presumptuous to explain to us why nolan doing B3 is a no-win situation? because i'm calling them out for being so negative? please. thumbs down to you my friend.
  • I think it's more like: You clearly didn't even listen to the podcast before commenting.
  • jason B
right, because i was absolutely turned off by what was said in the article. why do i wanna listen to people be negative? if that's not the case, then maybe don't word it in such a negative way next time? i'm honestly not saying any of this in a smart ass tone, just saying i usually stay away from articles or things that start off pessimistically.

Nolan should do it just to show he's got the balls. And if he tops TDK (i think he can, just needs time to think). I believe that if Warner Bros go with another director just to get the movie out quicker its gonna suck, and maybe even to kinda bad at the box office. If Warner Bros is patient and let Nolan do it his way they could end up with a really good Batman 3. Also there would probably be more hype and excitement for Batman 3 if it comes out 3-4 years after TDK and if Nolan directs.
  • I would say it's a one win-situation, with many losses. The only win is if it's better. Which is absolutely possible, I loved the Dark Knight, but recognize some it's glaring flaws. He could make a better one, it would just be hard to do. And if he doesn't, if it isn't as good or better, people will pick it apart and be constantly comparing.
