the final destination

Final Destination 4, which has been given the more-confusing-than-clever title The Final Destination, now has a movie trailer. The first movie was built around an airplane crash, the second movie revolved around a highway accident, the third movie involved a deadly roller coaster ride, and now the fourth movie takes us to a Nascar track where the race becomes deadly. Yes, it is just as stupid as it sounds. But hey, it might be fun in 3D? Watch the trailer after the jump.

  • So they just showed six or seven different characters appearing to die in the trailer.... how many characters are there? Or have I just witnessed most of the movie?
  • Um, have you seen the trailers for any of the previous Final Destination films?
  • The point is people go to see this movie because of unusual deaths, but if you show every one in the trailer..... what's the point?
  • JeremyKlein
to leave people wanting to see the horrifying results so badly, that they'll go see the movie
  • those are just all the scenes where you think it's gonna be a totally crazy gruesome death, only to have the person saved at the very last second, only to be killed even more gruesomely only minutes later.
  • moviewizguy
Don't be ridiculous! Are you blind? The trailer only gave like 3 death scenes. There are about 15 people in the whole film. Maybe you've mistaken the premonition sequence to be actual death scenes. And if you've seen the previous three trailers for the previous three movies, you know that will happen sooner or later. They show some death scenes to get people to watch the film.
  • ahhh...god. it's horid!
  • I like 'em.

I haven't seen any in theaters, but I have seen them all, at home, on video, from the comfort of a couch. As I will do with this one.

But if they are going to make a "The Final Destination", the studio needs to make sure it's truly final. None of this Freddy's Dead followed by a few more Freddy's kind of crap.

    Slumdog The Millionaire.
    Drag Me To The Hell.
2 The Fast 2 The Furious.
The Star Wars: Return of Jedi.
    Re Will Be Blood.
  • Joe
Your post was lame until Re Will Be Blood, then it redeemed itself.
  • DCDonner
    Nope, it was always lame.
  • Agreed.
  • You missed the point. It's THE Final Destination because, I think, it's the last one. So it's the last stop.
  • wow... death by car wash... very scary
  • Donald Duck
    If you had to choose..

    Car Wash or escalator? :D
  • Lewis
The Escalator Death Was Disgusting but so cool to watch lol :L i love these films because i like watching the deaths but the worst part was the shoe lace lol, i thought her ankle was gunna snap :L and to answer your question probably car wash lol
  • moviewizguy
Did you actually see what happens in the car wash?
  • If I were to guess based on the traler, her car fills with water, and so to breathe she sticks her head out of the sunroof. Then, you know. *Thwack*
  • If I were to guess from what it showed, her car fills with water, and so to breathe she sticks her head out of the sunroof. Then, you know. *Thwack*
  • I thought it was wax?
  • rnl
I don't know if they make them to be,
but I find the movies good for a laugh.

    Death my crazy accidents...funny stuff.
  • I'd let her go, the girl at the end.
  • A.J
Most of the death's look interesting
  • Interesting enough to laugh at and think of another way to sneak into another movie.
  • Rom
The only thing that these movies have taught me is that Death is a real douche bag.
  • rave
or that he has a great sense of humor.
  • I watched this trailer early today and thought it was horrible, not that the movies have ever been good, but I was entertained by the first two the third was awful. This one looks to be even worse. I'll wait till DVD and have a laugh with my brother.
  • moviewizguy
Well, set visits say otherwise....they said that the 3D looks stunning and is not used as a gimmick. I repeat, the 3D is not used as a gimmick. The 3D is used for the storytelling, to enhance the story. Also, the 3D technology is the same one being used in James Cameron's "Avatar." Watching this at home will be a huge mistake.
  • It's amazing. Didn;t think that ripping off King's the Dead Zone could take them this far. Sure, bring on another, why not.
  • Yes it looks horrible, and the 3D is obviously going to be used as a gimmick.....But come on it looks fun. It doesn't take itself serious, and it lays out exactly what you are going to get.
  • moviewizguy
Well, don't think it's going to be used as a gimmick. The filmmakers have said several times in interviews that the 3D is used to enhance the story. That's why watching this film in 2D will be just as good.
  • shadow
Really so the unusual amount of flying objects going from background to foreground hitting a character is just coincidence eh?
  • moviewizguy
Those are probably the only ones in the entire film...
  • Jordan
i was an extra in this for reshoots in orlando! look out for me this summer! shaggy brown haired kid playing chess in a coffee shop! hahaah.
  • Thats awesome. Did you win the game of chess?
  • Red Band Trailer would be nice.
  • this looks so bad
  • Guy gets his internal organs vacuumed out by the pool drain. I can't believe somebody approved that in the script as a viable way to die, especially for a horror movie. That's like dieing from smacking your head on the ground after slipping on a banana peel. They should release a Looney Toons-esque soundtrack extra for the DVD
  • aig
There have been documented cases of this.
  • Ever read "Haunted" from Chuck Palahniuk?
  • Is it just me are are they using a lot of the Transformers sound effects everywhere else lately? I think I heard some of them in the trailers for some new games coming out during E3 as well.
  • should be a good mindless movie to watch on a boring night at home. as with the other final destinations
  • dontworryboutit
    lazy deaths are lazy.

    lawn mower over a rock?
more shit flying through the air from long distance hitting either a person not looking at it and yelling or the person is looking right at it but cant move for some reason.
  • Daryl26
I find it hilarious that the trailer end with "2-D in selected theaters," it almost makes it seem like they're promoting the 2D as better.
  • Jeff W.
Nice that the trailer gives away every single death. I'll watch a bootleg of it online.
  • moviewizguy
You mean three. There are like 13 people...
  • When is the DVD coming out again?
  • moviewizguy
That comment is quite ignorant. If anyone goes to learn swimming, the first thing they learn is that the pool drain can definately suck people and make them drown. Kids have died and no, it's not sucking "his internal organs." You're just sick.
  • I didn't mean to imply it was impossible, just a really stupid thing to put in a movie about deaths
  • HA! I'll see that chick in her green panties in 3d
