Director Spike Jonze has launched a website titled “We Love You So” , where he is blogging about the upcoming big screen adaptation of Where The Wild Things Are, in addition to other random stuff.

“In October 2009 Spike Jonze’s feature film rendition of Maurice Sendak’s classic story Where The Wild Things Are will hit movie theaters worldwide. The film represents years of work from hundreds of different artists, writers, photographers, musicians, actors, and creators of all degrees. This place has been established to help shed some light on many of the small influences that have converged to make this massive project a reality. Simply put, this a place to learn about things we think are great and to share with you the things those things helped make. Wild Things indeed… And also probably a lot of other randoms things that catch our eye along the way. We hope you like it. We love you so.”

Apparently the website was launched a couple weeks ago, but we’re just finding out about it now, so there is all sorts of wonderful goodies to sort through in the achieves. One of the goodies being passed around in e-mails today is this video, shot by Lance Bangs, showing Spike Jonze testing out one of the early masks on an unwilling child. Funny stuff. Check out the video after the jump.

What's a "flim flim"? Is that some sort of Danish candy? If so, can I have some? I've heard that it is "good enough to fascinate people after watching this flimi."

    Yum!

    you're welcome
  • Nice blog! Looking forward to this film.
  • hahaha, that's great! my 14 year-old sis is still afraid of the same halloween mask she was afraid of when she was 5.

this kid might be scarred for life like her!
  • if kids react like that, I wonder how they will react when they see this awesome looking movie.
  • Aw, poor kid. I don't know what is wrong with kids today though. I mean when I was a kid I loved Where The Wild Things Are, and if faced with anything from the book in real life I doubt I would have been scared. I simply would've thought 'hey, neat costume, it looks just like the book'.

Where The Wild Things Are Movie and Soundtrack are just amazing! We love it! We would also like to suggest that Spike Jonze do the movie version of my children's other favorite book **Gingerbread Jimmi**! They read that one all year long and it is a Christmas Book! www.gingerbreadjimmiclub.com
