Watch the Transformers 2 ShoWest Footage

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen

At ShoWest, Michael Bay premiered a scene from Transformers: Revenge of The Fallen which featured Shia LaBeouf having a heart to heart with Bumblebee in his parent’s garage about moving off to college while Megan Fox changes into a dress outside. This is of course followed by a new kick ass montage of clips from the film (you’ll notice the first real look at Devastator). Well guess what? The two and a half minute video package is now online thanks to MichaelBay.com . Check it out after the jump.

You can watch the new footage in High Defintion on Vimeo.com . I have also included some high defintion screen captures below:

    WOW
  • what i deduce from the first screen capture is that this sequel will pick up directly where the first Transformers left off. (judging by the broken house and the firemen, and seeing as hes talking to bumblebee during that shot about college, and not a robot takeover)
  • Hollywood Hills
This movie, like it's predessesor will be a pile of warm green screen crap. Megan Fox needs to just do R-rated silent films where she is naked. Shia LeDrunk is the worst working actor on the planet besides Nick Cage. Utter, repulsive, expensive crap.
  • wow those sfx sounded straight up from star wars
  • skywarp
That Bumble Bee scene was painful to watch. We'll see about the rest of the movie.
  • MIkeB
I never saw the first Transformers movie, and this scene pretty much ensures that I'm going to avoid this one.
  • skippy
    agree with you MikeB.
though, I'm glad I watched this clip... in this economy it's nice to get a heads-up on what movies i won't be spending money on this summer.
  • Thanks Peter for the screen shots. This movie keeps looking better and better. I'm pretty sure this whole week was dedicated to Michael Bay on Slashfilm.
  • greycolumbus
More Sam Witwicky Dramedy and Megan Fox generic whoring is not a good thing....
  • I don't mind the Megan Fox "whoring" as you refer it. Keep it coming Bay.
  • greycolumbus
That's all it is. She's plain eye candy. Bay needs to stick to blowing up.
  • Beautiful, but it means nothing without characters to care about. I need some development this time around.
  • Agreed.

Hopefully they respectfully developed the Cybertronian character's instead of the humans (grew tiring very quickly in the first film). I'd much rather have a Cybertron history lesson than watch a silly conversation between a group of soldiers (yawn) again.
  • Fir3Wolf
This movie looks better each time I see it. Loved the first one and I know this will just top it by miles. Michel Bay found his calling for sure.
  • freemachine
That scene between Bumblebee and Shia is the pinnacle of lameness, even for Michael Bay. Seriously, if you had a guardian Autobot that transformed into a "bitchin camaro" (anyone catch that reference?) would you really complain about wanting to be just a regular guy?
  • skippy
you speak the truth. yet, Michael Bay continues...
  • Was that Nimoy voicing Jetfire or I'm I mistaken?
  • No, he's voicing The Fallen. Not Jetfire.
  • jason B
no, jetfire is being voiced by tutorro (sp?)
  • I agree with freemachine, who wouldn't want to bring Bumblebee to college?
  • freemachine
I think this movie will be great in that it will raise the bar on VFX and redefine the term "set piece". Unfortunately, this clip confirms my suspicious that Transformers 2 will reek with the contempt for coherent narrative that Michael Bay is infamous for.
  • Ladiesman
That scene will lead Sam to SURPRISE attack of decepticon in movie, and Sam and Optimus being attack by Decepticons without any help. Its like Han Solo decided to go to Lando's bespin in Empire Strikes Back.
  • that looks amazing...freaking fighting robots...can anyone ask for anything more....well, they can...a super sexy girl...and thats got that in there aswell...
  • Brad
How about a coherent script that doesn't suck balls? Are we not allowed to ask for that as well?
  • Solid
What college doesn't let a freshman have cars? It's college, not prison... or is it? Eh maybe there are some wacky places like that.
  • Solid
Who the f is negating my post??? I asked a legit question, somewhat intelligently too... I didn't just say "Oh megan fox's sexy but, teh acting's gay lolz." like usual. Ok I'll go back to being a dumbass then.
  • Rolando
Most colleges I know don't allow freshmen to have cars or, more accurately, permits that allow parking on campus. It's a space issue. If you want to be technical, freshmen can have cars as long as they find their own parking off campus.
  • The Iron Avenger
Most colleges (in the US) don't. Only one of the schools I looked at did allow them.
  • Solid
Thank you to those who enlightened me. I'll be attending college soon myself so it's always helpful to know more about it. As for you jerks just minusing me, why so serious?
  • Um, just figured I would let you know that most large colleges don't let freshman drive. At least in the east. And the colleges that do let freshman drive have them parking in lots that are up to a mile or two away from their dorms.
  • The University of Miami was in talks earlier over not letting dorming freshman park on campus. It was part of their 'going green' movement, somehow.
  • I think Sam doesn't want to take the car because he might try to protect him at college too. I really don't know but he would have to be in his car form the entire time and he probably doesn't like that. Plus Sam's hiding him in the garage in the scene was all just watched so maybe he doesn't like all the attention that one would get having a transformer living with you.
  • Julie B
But think about the sequel! Sam & Bumblebee are college roommates. Think of the zany antics!

    :(
  • good point, that type of movie is a must see for the years to come. :)
  • David
the effects look great, but that scene between sam and bumblebee was beyond terrible. i dont have high hopes for this at all beyond some cool action and set pieces.
  • I accept this site why because I learn more information from this site
  • Dinosaurs > You
Did Optimus just lose a f***ing tooth? Come on! This whole clip encapsulates my entire viewpoint on this film. Just when I see something that makes me believe in Bay and that the movie will be great; I see something that makes me want to vomit.

Why the HELL would a robot that could transform into ANYTHING choose to transform into an old, bearded robot with a cane?! Why!

Ummmm Am I stupid or did Bumblebee not speak perfectly well at the end of the first film? No I'm not stupid because he did.

Sometimes the action looks great and sometimes it just looks okay. Or it looks FAKE. I feel like this film was made on mojo from the first one so they went all out, but not in a good way. This is Spider-man 3 or Attack of the Clones not Two Towers or Empire Strikes Back. Disappointing to say the least.
  • Dude its a trailer the VFX aren't finished yet. In fact its possible that nearly all the vfx in here could change.

also I dont think the robot form is changeable (other than based on the vehicle they are) thats how they look. If they could choose then they would all be like Prime and kick serious ass. Think of Jazz he was tiy in comparison.

by all means say you hated Spiderman 3 as you've seen the final film but to say Transformers 2 is the same based on a trailer is a bit much.
  • Dolomite
    you, sir, are an idiot
  • Smash
They can choose to transform into vehicles, but they're still aliens so I don't see why they wouldn't age like other lifeforms. And if you can't see a crotchety old robot and laugh, you're dead inside.
  • I've always been willing to check my brain at the door so I can enjoy this when it comes out. Watching that clip, I can see that is definitely going to be the case. I always seem to wince throughout a Michael Bay film, but leave the cinema having had a strangely enjoyable time.
  • matt
Bleh, the only thing that can save film a bit is great set pieces, and the first film struggled to manage that.

The "songs to talk" joke from the first film was terrible, and treating BB like he's some kind of giant baby, whilst also being a robot soldier who kills other robots, just doesn't gel at all and rather than making me feel empathy or anything for the characters just leaves me cringing. Imo BB should be, in personality, the same age as Sam. There friendship growing out of that. Not growing out of treating BB like he's a baby/dog.
  • Cranex42
Garage scene shows that it will be as bad and dumb as the first movie.

    But action scenes looks amazing.
  • Couldn't agree more. All signs seem to be suggesting that this will be a very enjoyable film, just like the first one. I for one am excited. Although I have to say, it's weird seeing Bumblebee act like a dog, kind of takes away from his 'badass-ness'.
  • stb247
I've just lost all confidence in this film.

That scene in the garage, the talking Decepticon with his cane, OP losing parts like a human... I give up. This is gonna be as bad, if not worse, than the first one. A fucking kids movie with laughable robots.

    What a disgrace!
  • were you watching the same trailer as me? the one above right? laughable robots? could u do better ones?

firstly (and I had to think where to start with you) How do you know the robot with a cane is a Decepticon. I'm led to believe its Jetfire and is an Autobot in this. Next so if i kick you in the face parts of your face will fall off like with Prime? Go take a sledge hammer to your car and see if bits dont fall off.
  • Tokyo Brawler
I've said this before and I'll say it again. Bay has got it ALL WRONG. Transfromers ARE NOT CARS. They are ROBOTIC ALIENS. Thus, when they transform into robots, they are not cars nor are they made up of car parts (remember when Bumblebee peeed gasoline onto that agent guy = wrong). Bay may not have like the "blocky" transformers but that makes them much more simpler and much easier to explain how they can take damage in robot form and not have any when they transform back into a car. If you anyone wants to argue about this, I'm all for it because I think it is a highly debatable topic.
  • Pete
you said "a fucking kids movie".
Is there any reason why it shouldn't be a kids movie? It is based on a series of kids toys, the concept was clearly created to appeal to CHILDREN.

The fact that it appeals to older people is simply because they were popular when 20-30 year olds were kids. Making a mature movie about robots who change into cars and fight each other in order to obtain things like a cube that makes robot worlds is ridiculous. Taking that seriously would be a mistake. And an embarrassment.
  • slippy
Pete, why would you so easily dismiss this a movie "based on a series of kids toys, the concept was clearly created to appeal to CHILDREN." And "Taking that seriously would be a mistake. And an embarrassment."

why don't you apply that argument to Batman, a character created originally for kids, now a property that is one of the biggest merchandising brands in the world. Comic books... toys... video games.. all "kid" things. How could anyone take that seriously? A grown man dressed up as a bat to fight crime? How could anyone not see that this is a kids idea???

    Answer: The Dark Knight.

    Booyah.

[sorry Michael Bay - you lose. Game over. Please don't play again.]
  • pretty sure that I saw soundwave there at the end O.O
