  • Thanks for the news Peter. I've always enjoyed seeing the movie a bit earlier than expected. I'm thinking one day most movies will just start showing on Thursdays anyway.
  • Sweet.
But hopefully I get into the premiere so I get to watch it a whole week earlier...
  • Us Australians get it at Midnight May 7th.
And, we are in a different time zone.
We get it like 24 hours earlier.
    :D
    Finally we get our share...
  • Well good, that gives me options. Although the theater I'm near probably won't have any screenings that early, I'll have to wait until closer to the actual release date to know for sure.
  • Guy
7pm works for me and they can move the date even earlier if they insist - the sooner the better.

90210 Star Wars Trek is presented by MTV and Turbo Fuel Energy Drink!

written by the same retards who wrote Trannyformers.
  • I'm not sure what the big deal is. These 7pm screenings effectively replace the midnight screenings. You'll get the same atmosphere and excitement, but without being dead tired.
  • It's like getting to have all the fun of winning the World Series, but without the trophy at the end.

It's stupid, it really is, but staying up late and being dead tired really does make it way better. Any ol' teeny bopper can go to a movie at 7pm. But to go at midnight means you WANT IT.

Some of the excitement really does come from being willing to be that tired for the sake of the movie. Making it easy removes the sacrifice.
  • My own sentiments echo those of Craigasorusrex. Midnight screenings are the sheesh, but I'm not as disturbed as I would've thought. I guess it's one of those things that seem really important to me, but in the end doesn't matter all that much. Besides, I know eventually I will end up at a midnight ST screening anyway.
  • Why can't it be released on Wednesday. I leave for Greece Thursday at 4:00pm. This makes it all that much worse because I wont be able to see it till I get back and they put it so close to leaving time
  • I did want to experience the entire "I actually came out for the midnight screening" sensation for this film.

But on the bright side I get to see the film earlier so no biggie.
  • Screw......

    .....You.

Oh, for the love of crap, man. Midnight showings used to be the most awesome time. All the hardcore fans came out, there was excitement, and electricity. Everyone was gonna be dead tired the next day, but no one cares. It's ______ for crying out loud!! You GOTTA see it the first moment you can! And staying up all night for it meant you earned it. You worked HARD to get to see it before any of your friends.

Screw this mess. I'm keeping my showing at midnight, I love the middle of the night, I love only being able to pick from Waffle House and Steak and Shake for a meal afterward, and I love being dead tired at work the next day. This 7pm, 8pm, 9pm first-showings are absolutely, in all ways, retarded.

    Screw. This.
  • I agree completely, midnight showings are the best.
  • I know exactly what you mean. I went to a midnight showing of Cloverfield when it came out, and regardless of what the audience thought of the movie, it was one of my favorite movie going experiences ever because everybody was so caught up in the experience. And they all flipped when they saw the Star Trek teaser, too, which was fun.
  • I won't die at work the next day! I love it! Can't wait.
