I’ve always had a soft spot for sci-fi thrillers, so when I first heard about Duncan Jones’ Moon, I was immediately intrigued. The film tells the story of Sam Bell (Sam Rockwell) who is sent on a three-year one-man mission to the moon to mine Helium-3, which has become Earth’s primary source of energy in the future. As his stint there is winding up, a freak accident and its ensuing events threaten to change everything. After seeing the film at the 2009 Sundance Film Festival, /Film editor-in-chief Peter Sciretta wrote, “Like last year’s Sleep Dealer, I’m convinced that Moon is at the beginning of a new renaissance of indie sci-fi feature films which will challenge Hollywood’s big budget computer generated spectacles.”

Now courtesy of IGN, the trailer for Moon has debuted. The trailer features some great visuals, some appropriately creepy voiceover work by the onboard computer, and what appears to be yet another bravura performance by Rockwell.
