  • great post peter, love it when you do posts like this
  • Mexican immigrants in DC Super Hero Costumes, Didn't Family Guy do that joke already. There was a Mr. Fantastic and an Iceman though along with spider-man.

I'm Surprised Lucas hasn't made a Tauntaun Sleeping bag already.
  • lordtoastbutter
Note on Jetfire - the cane is part of his landing gear when he's in his alt mode
  • yeah they mentioned that a while back. not sure why they brought it up again.
  • i would love to see Steve Wiebe beat the DK record.
  • me too
  • Infrafan
That tauntaun sleeping bag is genius. They should make it a real product.

And as for Arcee's death, but surprise. Since she can't have cleavage, why would Michael Bay want her in the movie. It's just like killing the only "black" transformer last time.
  • Zinc
Ah yes, Anil Kapoor gets the stereotypical middle eastern role.
  • Yeah I wonder how long into the season we'll find out that he's working for the bad guys in some way.
  • Yeah I wonder how long into the season we'll find out that he's working for the bad guys in some way.
  • Just saw the Dragonball movie, it was alright. It kinda got the feel of the Anime. I was happy ya got to see Monkey Goku. Who ever the chick that played Chi-Chi did a good job, and James Masters piccolo was not used as much as he should have. i give it a 3.5 out of 5. I love DBZ, so i hope it does well so we can see Vegeta or some Cell Games.
  • ilovedragonballtoo
reading your comment makes me wish i could agree with you
  • lujs
    it was pure crap..
  • Sam Raimi told SCIFI that PULITZER PRIZE WINNER David Lindsay-Abaire’s screenplay for Spider-Man 4 should be ready by Summer 2009. YES! This will not be your friendly neighborhood Spiderman 3
  • yeah I'm really hoping they try not to be kid friendly in the next movie. I hope the script is awesome too. Does anyone know what happened to the other guy, Vanderbilt, who was originally supposed to write the script for part 4?
  • I think it will have to remain at the PG-13 level though...it's already too established in that territory for it to shift to the R rating. However, if they take TDK route and just make it visually terrifying and still PG-13, more power to them.

Also, Drag Me to Hell looks brilliant
  • I agree, it will most likely be PG-13. An R rating would be innaproporiate. It will need to stay relatively fun because Raimi's skill with camp is unmatched (See Evil Dead) and while dark and moody works really well for Batman I don't see it succeeding with Raimi's Spiderman. it would be too dramatic a departure. I am really excited that unlike Spiderman 3 this one is going to be written by someone who understands subtext and thematic purpose. It forgot to be campy in celebration of comic form but instead was silly for the sake of ten year old boys.

And yeah, I can not wait for Drag Me To Hell
  • get your own Tauntaun!
  • Yeaa more Inglorious Basterds is always welcomed.
  • Inglorious Basterds is just going to be so amazing. The script was fantastic and the cast is stellar. August can't come soon enough for me.
  • Weyland_Yutani
3D Noir? Has it really come to this?
  • I know, right? It doesn't even ring true: "3D Noir film". Comes off sounding tacky and pointless. If a noir film is going to be good enough for my viewership, why does it need to be 3D??
  • The poster for The Box could have been cooler probably? And IDK why but Eli Roth in Inglourious Basterds is really working for me.
  • strawberries
not to accuse you guys of cutting information over GL cause you're buds with Frosty, and wanna side with him again, BUUT, you did seem to omit that Pine also said he met with Producer De Line and the Casting Director.
  • He had one meeting. If you know anything about the business, an initial meeting is usually nothing. The initial reports were that that an offer was sent out to Pine, and those reports have turned out to be untrue.
  • mangos
yah, they were wrong there it seems. twitter war push imo.
  • aestatsol
thanks for posting the LOTR bit. I'm only 2 towns over and had no idea!
  • immigrants as superheroes = genious
  • immigrants as superheroes = genius
  • /ambient
I bought RAN immediately off amazon. You saved me probably like $100. Once Criterion movies loose licenses it practically "bye bye forever". I could be wrong.
  • Awesome post, it's about time the script for Spider-man 4 gets done. Oh yeah, I hope
Chris Pine doesn't get the Green Lantern role.
  • Who else thinks that Jon Favreau has some crazy stuff in his house? It's possibly the coolest collection of things that are great.
  • I wonder if he gets laid? Or if it's a bit too... geeky. I know if most bach pads were littered with this kind of gear, not much action would be taking place! Then again, he's a Hollywood player with a bankroll... what am I sayin?!
  • I am absolutely psyched for Inglorious Basterds. Can't believe QT turned that film around so quickly after waiting so long. It's REALLY playing Sundance next month? That's superb!
  • I'm pretty excited for the Losers. Jeffery Dean Morgan, Idris Elba...enough said right there. I might have to go check out the graphic novel/comic first to see what it's all about.
  • So Bay killing off a female in Transformers. I guess Magen got jealous of her for getting more screen time. lol But at lease Ironhide gets to keep his girlfriend.
  • freemachine
Favreau's pad is sweet! I'm sad that he's no longer involved with "John Carter of Mars". Andrew Stanton (WALL-E, Finding Nemo) has taken over directing that picture so I'm sure it's in good hands. It's an incredible story BTW.
  • The Colonial Theater in Phoenixville, PA is doing the LOTR trilogy (all extended cuts, all prints) on Fathers day. As an added bonus, it's the theater where they shot the original Blob with Steve McQueen. Good times.
  • sorry I can't even start to agree with what you're saying...I've seen it as well and it played more like an episode of the Power Rangers than anything else...it had some cool sets but the film moved way to quickly to even enjoy them...the acting was over the top bad...the only decent actor was Joon Park who should have actually been cast as Goku...
  • Gotta agree with you Christopher. I was hoping it would be silly fun, cheesy nothingness that would at least help pass an hour and a half. But I found it very difficult to sit through, the whole thing was just....awful.
  • The Box looks like a very cool film. Cant wait to see that, or at least a bit more footage from it.
