Cool! I hope someone here on the West Coast decides to host this so I can see it.
  • so wish i could go to this, this looks amazing, i would love to have any of those pictures hanging up in my house.
  • Palmer
One of them eerily looks like David Bowie.
  • which one?
  • these are all excellent, amazing. the Joker is a great inspiration for artists, so it would seem.

A few of them are obviously Heath Ledger inspired. Heath has made and indelible impact on the way people will view the Joker for generations to come.

My little cousins think that Heath's Joker is the original and the Jokers that don't have scars, only a big smile, are rip-offs.

My fave is the one with the sabretooth fangs.
  • Terrific artwork!
  • ugh why don't Iive in LA?
  • well. just tell him that the characters been around since the 40s.
  • BlaBla
Have the heard of an apostrophe?
  • BlaBla
    they

    The irony...
  • Wow some of those are pretty cool. If I lived anywhere in the area, I would be attending this function.
  • The Joker featured on the cover of The Killing Joke GN is the iconic one for me....The Mark Hamill Joker from The Mask of the Phanstasm running a tight second. Heath Ledger never quite had enough of a manic, psychotic edge for me to be fully buy into him. Still, an awesome performance that won't be topped anytime soon.

forcing 3 men to kill each other with a broken pool stick & setting fire to hundreds of millions of dollars isn't psychotic enough for you? trying to blow up a boat full of 300 men, women & children? blowing up the DA & his squeeze?

hmm, can't tell if yer for real or not.
  • Mmmm - when you put it like that...... :-)

The point I was trying to make was that whilst the actions were Joker-eque, the execution of the character wasn't quite in the same over-the-top grand Guignol performance I've always envisage the Joker having.

Heath's performance was awesome but the way he played the Joker struck me as being of a character that was manically depressed and lashing out - mentally ill, rather than insanely brilliant.

I fully accept it's a different facet of how the Joker can be portrayed - anarchist, rather than Clown Prince of Crime - and that's cool...but for me, the Joker should be flashing from insane to ice cold in a heartbeat, constantly shifting and ever changing.
  • The Joker is everything and anything. That's why he's the most versatile character (including Batman) in comics, movies, and cartoons.
  • Well put, sir.
  • I like the first one with the HA HA HA's on the forehead.
  • Looks great!
