Fan Created Star Trek Posters?

start trek bridge poster

Update: Apparently the posters are real after all.

ScreenWeek has some cool, most likely fan created, posters for JJ AbramsStar Trek. The posters make use of some previously released character images and trailer shots, which is why I’m pretty sure they are fan created photoshops. The tagline “The Future Begins” was a previous working title for the film, and I haven’t seen it used on any of the marketing materials yet. I could be wrong.

Anyway, I thought they were cool enough to post regardless of their legitimacy. The Spanish-language poster above shows San Francisco, the future home of Starfleet Academy, being attacked by a energy beam from Nero’s Romulan ship echoing a shot from the film’s theatrical trailer. Two more after the jump.

  • Now see, the problem with this poster is that... San Franciscoans are very provincial. There's no way they would ever let a giant energy beam evaporate the scenic bay.

And we'd freak out over the fact thats not where the bridge is supposed to be in relation to the city. Peter should know better ;)
  • maybe the first poster is a fan made one but the others look typical. can't tell just yet with the others.
  • Anon
the bottom 2 are the UK and US posters...
  • Those posters are pretty awesome. It makes me wonder why "professionals" can't ever come up with a poster that sells a movie as well as that first one does. If I was walking in a movie theatre and saw that first poster I would almost instantly want to see the movie.

Wasn't "The Future Begins" the subtitle for Terminator Salvation in the beginning?
  • Pretty close. The line in the trailer was "The End Begins."

And the title of Batman Begins was "Batman Begins." So there's another coincidence.
  • Pete
I believe that Terminator has used both. Damn them!
  • Steve
"The Future Begins" was used in the trailer attached to I Love You, Man, I believe.
  • The bottom left one looks like a poster for "The Fast and the Furious" while the one on the right looks a lot like the one for "Iron Man".
  • those are alright.
  • taptup
I don't think those are fan-made posters. I've never seen a Spanish fan-made poster as good as that...

I like the top one, cool a little more original compared to the bottom ones which as said before look like their from other movies. I think the bottom left one is the cheesiest, the right one is a little better looking

I was thinking the same thing. It's actually kind of awesome in a way because the red color and the exclamation mark make his posts stand out better.
  • TAHNK YOU MY RFREIDN!! LETS KEEP MAKING ME GO FOR THE GOLD!! 81 today..82 TOMROWW!! :DDDDDDDD =x
  • freemachine
You got it man. I'm so proud of you.

Floating head posters no, San Francisco getting destroy poster yes. Nothing against the citizens of San Francisco, but that poster looks great....though I question the placement of the bridge.
  • borg
these are all official international one-sheets. and not bad ones, imho.
  • Happy_Evil_Dude
They're official. "The Future Begins" tagline has been used in trailers, at least international ones. I particularly noticed it because it's the same tagline as Terminator Salvation.
  • Mace Windu Cleaner
Second one is official. Empire have it stuck on their purdy little site. Exclusive my arse!
  • Goro
I like the Chris Pine as Alex from A Clockwork Orange in the bottom two posters. :/
  • Hey Folks! those Posters are NOT fan made, they are official. We've just posted them in High Resolution and have gotten them directly from Paramount. :)

Paramount has mocked up the San Fran poster so that our minds would be taken off criticizing one "bridge" ...to criticize another... Kind of brilliant, actually... ;)
