Last week we reported that Daft Punk would be providing the musical score for Tron 2.0. /Film reader Andrew sent over this fan made trailer for the original Tron that incorporates the music of Daft Punk. It take a little while to get going, but I think its worth watching, if only for its popculture flashback value. Plus, there is an extreme lack of interesting news tonight… Video after the jump.

  • Trystan
Anything Tron just gives me a headache.

This movie is classic, I sure hope it's not ruined with the second one.
  • tom.
Anything Daft Punk is just awesome.
  • Yep, if Tron 2.0 isn't enjoyable, at least I can always just sit back and close my eyes and listen to 90 or more minutes of new Daft Punk music. :)
  • This is going to sound like bullshit, but the moment I went to click on this link...the same song played on my ipod. Weird...
  • The problem with this video is, you could probably use any of Daft Punk's songs from the various albums they've released, because pretty much everything they have made is pure elektronique beauty. Which is the only real reason I'm anticipating the new 'T2ON' film to see what DP run with.
  • Totally unrelated, but everything that Jeff Bridges does reminds of The Big Lebowski... =D
  • Daft Punk doing the soundtrack is the smartest decision about this movie. I really dont know what kind of market this movie has other than its fanboys. The fact that it is being called a sequel is mind blowing enough. Most may not know TR$N but everyone knows Daft Punk. cant wait.
  • Badass from 1:10 onward.
  • Jeff Bridges was the best thing about Tron. Daft Punk are awesome and should do Tron 2.0 justice.
  • 1:12 on is just fucking epic. i wasnt ever too interested in tr2n because i didn't give a shit about tron but that was just fucking sweet. i can't wait to see the new especially with modern technology and daft punk's visceral electronica... awesome!!!!!
  • agreed!
  • you hit the hammer on the head. if the reviews are bad, i'm just going to buy the soundtrack and skip the film.

I wouldn't be surprised if this happens.
  • Exactly, I didn't care for this movie at all. Just the fact that Daft Punk is still creating music pretty much guarantees a ticket sale + soundtrack purchase from myself
