hangover_2

Already pegged as the summer comedy you’ll most likely be driven to by a sober girl, we now have our first glimpse at The Hangover and it is funny to the power of holy shit. Any movie that places a toothless Ed Helms, snuggler Zach Galifianakis, face-tatted Mike Tyson, and vintage Phil Collins in the same Las Vegas suite is already unlocking previously unknown doors of lascivious joy worthy of Pier Pasolini. And what’s up Bradley Cooper? According to Mr. Beaks, other winning cameos are at bay, and it def looks like director Todd Phillips has his next Old School. I mean, look at Galifianakis at the start of this. He looks like he had 10 mini heartattacks in his sleep, in a good way. Watch the trailer after the jump. What do you think?

The Hangover opens wide on June 5, 2009.

  • I laughed a lot. I think we can say this is gonna be good.
  • bb6640
Meh. Didn't seem that funny - just kinda average.
  • lee
mike tyson, wow, didnt expect that...
  • Yeah, he's like the Spanish inquisition that way. Nobody ever expects him.
  • It looked good, but I'm more excited about "Observe and Report." That made me do things to babies you don't want to know.
  • @blade777 @shadowfuries

Observe and Report comes out in April. And yes, Jody Hill is one of the most important comedy directors to come around in a long time. It should exceed all expectations.
  • freemachine
Mike Tyson + Phil Collins = right cross
  • I'm thinking Observe & Report and this are going to be the big summer comedies...
  • maracle
i guess there hasent been a dude wheres my car movie since....well....Dude Wheres My Car
  • Hahaha, wow. That looks pretty awesome.
  • noh
    no buddy :) o.0 :o
  • Dave
Em….think it looked ok. The Mike Tyson thing made me chortle however it’s basically ripped from an advert in the UK - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wy52yueBX_s&pl...

Think the funniest film of the year (nah Decade) is set to be ‘In The Loop’. It’s Armando Iannucci's big screen spin off of his BBC political satire, The Thick of It…..this show and the film contain some o the wittiest and swear-ified one-liners you’ll ever hear!
Eg - MALCOLM: “...don't start with the moral objections, ya fuckin' Blue Peter badge-wearing ponce. Go and make a contribution to fucking Amnesty International - go and buy a goat the whole village can fuck”

The Guardian news paper have a clip, have a watch it’s epic - http://www.guardian.co.uk/film/filmblog/2009/mar/...
  • You could embed that video now!
    lol
We get that ad in Australia too.
But how is it ripping it off.
Having the same song and punching someone to it?
    Yeeeahhh?
  • lol that was actually pretty funny. i loved the Mike Tyson part & Zach Galifianakis is awesome, (he is The Snuggler!). i will probably check this out
  • IT'S THE NARD-DAWG.
  • Juiceless
I don't get it, it looks like a pretty average comedy. Did I miss something?
  • Tyson?
  • I need a redband trailer. That was too pussy for me.
  • eric
Anyone else get weirded out when Galifianakis does slapstick comedy?
  • Hahahahahahaha!
  • looks like is going to be a blast!
  • this looks fantastic. Galifanaikis can do no wrong.
  • looks fun
  • It looked okay, but then Tyson came in FTW... I'm there :D
  • Alber Brodsky
Finding a baby in the closet after a drunken rampage? Stealing a police cruiser and posing as cops? Mike Tyson jamming to Phil Collins? All kinds of awesome.
  • Ha! I do that on drum solos, too! Just the image of Galifianakis with a Baby Bjorn on would be worth it, I think.
  • Saw this before Watchmen. The audience was laughing hysterically especially at the Tyson part.
  • Nothing bad can come from Mike Tyson, Phil Collins and a random punching of the face all rolled into one. Solid gold
  • Tyson was the only thing I laughed at. Movie might be funny but the trailer didn't indicate that to me.
  • ill admit i laughed a lot at the mike tyson bit
  • This looks more like a hilarious concept than a hilarious set of dialogue. Which could be really good, because that means you have to wait until you see it to get the full effect. I'm very excited to see this.
  • jason B
i get suuuuper jealous that there are people out there who can think up brilliantly funny shit like this. holy fuck that was funny!
  • hilarious. finally mike tyson we can laugh at again.
  • Need a redband trailer. That looked like every other comedy I have seen in trailer form.
  • Spooky
Looks like what Harold & Kumar 2 should have been...
  • Smumdax
I don't understand this.... What's so funny about Tyson drumming to Phil Collins? I didn't laugh at all, and didn't laugh when he threw his punh either... The only place I got a smile was... hum.... well....
  • That's my favorite part of the song also.

Tyson does look like he still has it. I'll see this.
  • dlb
    comment ftw.

    says it like it is
  • This looks great.
  • amen to that
  • I saw a screening of this a few weeks ago. Zach Galifianakis is amazing, he dominates the movie in the same fashion as Daniel Day-Lewis would. Trust me, he's a true comedic secret weapon.
  • I've always liked Galifianakis, I'm totally down with this one.
  • ANDY BERNARD!!!!
  • Well I smiled and I laughed!
  • chewy1979
After reading the comments I thought it was going to be meh, but it looks pretty good. Observe and Report looks meh. Saw the trailer a couple of weeks ago and hmmm, not expecting much. Meh.
  • kyle
    hahahha that looks fucking great.
  • This looks great. I'm excited that we're going to get a big production comedy without any of the 'usual supsects'

the cast is fresh, and the film will probably have a fresher feel to it. Nothing against all the usual comedy actors, but this cast looks gellin.
  • dick
i hope this does well bc Zach Galifianakis is one of my favorite comedians and i think he just keeps getting shafted. out cold anyone?
  • Polarbeargreen
Some people need to keep their mouths shut. Idiots.
  • Lencho
I didn't laugh until the Mike Tyson part. I'm sure the redband trailer will make me laugh more.
