The above photo shows actor Tyler Mane reprising Michael Myers in Rob Zombie’s H2: Halloween 2 and arrives via a new tipster batch sent to Shock. While it’s difficult to make out the face, the guy is rocking long locks and a huge beard (!), features never previously associated with the horror icon. Over the weekend, many /Film commenters had it out over the superiority of Zombie’s Halloween compared to Platinum Dunes’s limp F13th, and it seems that Zombie will continue to excavate canon and pave new ground in the sequel. Cool by me. Also of note, actor Daeg Faerch who played a young, blond Myers in the first film reports that he has been recast in the sequel due to height issues. He is bummed.

The blog Rated-M also managed to get photos from the film’s set, and they reveal two things: there will be Halloween decorations and vibes aplenty (horror fans cited a lack thereof in the first film), and the biography on Myers by an opportunistic Dr. Loomis (Malcolm McDowell), The Devil Walks Among Us, will play into the plot as well.

More set pics after the jump…

  • Daeg Faerch looks like God hates him. He was sort of the icing on the shit cake that was the Halloween remake. It takes 20 years to get a Watchmen movie, but apparently Zombie can make a movie in like two weeks. Go figure.
  • A. J.
I like Rob Zombie's Halloween and can't wait for the sequel. I just rewatched this the other day. From the other pics this must pick up where the last one ended. Good stuff.
  • Palmer
For a minute I thought Rob Zombie really let himself go.
  • By letting himself go, did you mean growing a foot taller?
  • dan
i thought zombie said he wasn't going to do a sequel
  • if Zombie wants to make more movies he's going to have to make more Halloween sequels....people aren't going to finance a film like T-Rex without him being a more bankable director...expect two films between Halloween sequels..
  • A. J.
Looking at the first picture again it looks like Tyler Mane is wearing a Rob Zombie mask.
  • Dave A.
thats what i thought too, looks like a really pale rob zombie mask..even the beard/hair kinda matches
  • Wankiewitz
    Exactly. It's an on-set prank.
  • B33
    He lied.

    It's Hollywood.

    What else is new?
  • Proof that the gods of Film hates us.
  • Joaquin Phoenix is Michael!
  • He obviously has to stop getting fashion tips from him, and Bruce Willis too.
  • how will he wear the mask with a full beard?
  • Most likely shave it off, if not, it's not like it's a big deal if he's got a beard underneath anyway.
  • Tyler Mane looks pretty scary right in the first image. I would be terrified if someone looking like that broke into my home. It's also nice to see this movie's being made very quick.
  • it makes sense, i cant picture a psycho giving a shit about hygiene.
  • Djo
Although it does look like THIS psycho cares about the hygiene of the town he chooses to live in! What an "Un-Scary" suburb!
  • nice point. shouldn't the victims be able to smell michael myers (or jason voorhees for that matter) when they're standing mere inches behind them? in the case of platinum dunes's shite remakes, all of the actors bathe in axe body spray so it's less feasible, but i hope zombie explores this.
  • haha yea im just saying, they always show where the killer lives or is staying and its disgusting, so why would they shave enough and keep shit clean? lol. They roll out of bed to kill peeps not get fresh and clean. "oh my room has shit all over but im gonna get my face smoother than a babies bottom"
  • hahaha, kudos.
  • This does bring up the point, in all the other 'Halloween' films, why is Myers always immaculately groomed? Surely a man with raging psychopathic tendancies bouncing around his brain wouldn't be thinking of what conditioner to use? He has more important things to think about, such as, what is the perfect hammer to use a innocent person's nether-regions... :p
  • I need to rewatch Rob Zombie's Halloween.
  • Palmer
Well, from afar Tyler Mane kind of looks like Zombie (weird to write that), and honestly, I have no clue how tall Rob Zombie is.
  • Yeah I thought it was weird to type Zombie the first couple times I did it. But anyway, if you go to celebheights.com you can see how tall the celebrities really are. I'm sure you'll probably never use that but figured I would show you anyway. Rob is 5 foot 10 inches while Mane is 6 foot 8 inches.
  • Kenny Powers says, "You look like a retarded Michael Myers."
  • matt
i totally agree, there are some things you really shouldnt change about such a classic movie. lol.
  • A beard? next they'll have it set at christmas and he'll be wearing a santa mask
  • i hate the new look.
  • Sarah Jessica Parker does.
  • edc
    stupid.
  • I wonder if by contract, Rob Zombie must add a beard to everything.
  • matt
    seems that way. lol.
  • John
Cringes. I bet the only thing this film accomplishes is making the original H2 look even better.

I wonder if those skulls by the book are a nod to the ones in H3? They look just like the masks from that film.
  • Michael Myers goes maskless in this one so that's why he's sporting the beard...I don't think they're handing out razors in the mental institution....plus if I remember correctly he went maskless in the original H2...Mane is the perfect Myers
  • J.Kerr
He actually doesnt take his mask off in Halloween 2. Laurie rips his mask off in the original, and i believe he unmasks himself in 4....but besides that. And personally, i feel Manes wayyy to tall to play Myers. I liked him better when he was a normal sized guy.... To each his own.
  • there was also a deleted scene in part 4 or 5...where some punk kid unmasks him as well....I think the size itself makes him threatening besides the fact he's mindless psychopath...it would be a different concept to actually see his adult face for a few scenes...beard and all
  • THANKS HUNTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is great. I do not like the beard. He is Michale Myers not the Devils's rejects. Love the book and the news tha Zombie is recognizng that he needs a halloween motif for a hallowwen film. THE BEARD IS A NO- GO, IT DOES NOT BELONG. Malcolm McDowell is the perfect and obvious choice to play Loomis, the great Dolad Pleasance would be proud.
  • Electric razors, he was forced to shave in the institution, its a habit that he kept...
  • I was just about to make the same, terrible joke.
  • For once, I agree with the Broomstick on this one!!! LOL
  • I was trying to do a poll. Maybe next time... but here is what is would have been:

LOOKS LIKE MR. ZOMBIE HAS CHANGED THE FAMOUS MICHAEL MYERS MASK ALREADY, and GIVEN MICHAEL MYERS A BEARD. What's next? What will this mastermind of ( destroying a franchise, and one of the greatest characters in the history of the world) Halloween do Next?

    A. Michael Myers will learn to play drums and have a scene in a mosh pit: 17%
    B. He ditches the original song and introduces a new one, that's terrible 35%
    C. He makes Myers new weapon of choice a switchblade and chain

I am not cncerned with this- what he should do is this: ( SEE NECT POST)
  • 1. KEEP THE ORIGINAL SONG, YOU DID THE RIGHT THING BY BRINGING BACK MCDOWELL,LETS STATY ON THE RIGHT TRACK.
    2. LESS ANNOYING, STAGED SCREAMING FOR THE GIRL. HEY, I LVE THESE FILMS WITH ALL MY HEART, BUT EVEN I WAS ANNOYED AT THAT GIRLS SCREAMS AT THE END FO PART 1.
    3. RIDE THE HALLOWEEN THEME ALL THE WAY TO THA BANK. I LOVE THE GHOSTS IN TREES, ROB, STAY THE COURSE, YOU WILL WIN WITH MORE HALLOWEEN, FOCUS ON IT, ITS WHAT SEPARATES US FROM THE OTHERS.
    4. DITHC THE BEARD, NO SENSE IN BRINGING MYERS DOWN, RAISE HIM UP.
    5. HAVE HIM ENCOUNTER OTHER BIG GUYS - LIKE YOU DID WITH THE BATHROOM SCEN IN ONE. HAVE HIM CHALLENEGED BY OTRHER BIG DUDES, - BY ACCIDENT OF COURSE.
    6. DITHC THE LOCAL POLICE. THIS GOES ABOVE AND BEYOND THEM - IT HURT THE LAST FRANCHISE.
    7. MORE DEATHS - HAVE MYERS ISNT AWKWARD FUNY SITUATIONS, YOU KNOW HOW TO DO THIS..
    8. PLAY YOUR TUNE " MORE HUMAN, THAN YOU MAN" - OR BOOGIEYMAN.
DONT HIDE YOUR PAST,ITS WAHT GOT YOU HERE.

THANKS, AND GOOD LUCK WE WILL BE PRAYING FOR YOUR SUCCESS!!!
  • tHANK YOU AGAIN, HUNTER. IM ON YOUR BANDWGAON NOW, CHALLENGIN PETER!!! HUNTER HAS ARRIVED!!!
  • matt
i thinkk, movies or real life, if your being chased by a crazed killer, you smelling them and noticing their hygiene is the least of the victims worries. lol.
and truthfully, what does that, or the fact that they might use axe body spray have to do with anything, its not like we're going to be able to smell them, while sitting in the movie theaters seats. lol.
  • matt
despite the fact that the original movie was filmed only on a $30,000 budget, his mask is never really off, except for a split second when laurie rips it off. we really don't know if he has ANY facial hair at all that is. all and all, i think whether "the shape" had or didnt have facial hair, was the least of Carpenters and Hills worries. lol.
and truthfully, what does it really matter? its a horror movie made to scare you. Is a beard really going to affect the amount of fear you experience while watching this movie? lets hope not. lol.
  • matt
oh, and in addition; why the fuck is Michael walking out of a market so nonchalauntly? yeah? because he didn't just kill like 50 people. lol.
  • matthew scroggins
i think that this is going to be a great movie. i've watched all of his movies, they are great. i go home and watch them over and over again. he has not disappointed me yet.
  • rainbowstardust
