More Scott Pilgrim Cast Photos: Ellen Wong and Mary Elizabeth Winstead

Edgar Wright has posted two more photos of the cast of Scott Pilgrim vs. The World. I’ve touched them up, a little color correction, and added side-by-side comparisons from the graphic novel. Ellen Wong (pictured above) plays Knives Chau, a 17-year-old Chinese-Canadian high school girl who dated Scott for a short stint before he found Ramona. She still isn’t over him even though she is dating other guys. And below is another photo, shadows aside — an almost full photo this time, of Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Ramona Flowers.     The Soloist comes out at April 24th after being pushed back because a good weekend opened up. Inglorious Bastards/Star Trek/Watchmen are national news now. Go to IGN for that, I love this site for it's indie news. I had no idea about Scott Pilgrim before this site and now i'm really pumped. Seems amazing.

  • Agh, I've been loving the casting. Knives chick looks too mature so to speak, I'm skeptical for her but have loved the rest of the casting...I don't really see a Knives resemblance besides the asian-factor, maybe it's just the pic.

    what im shocked they cast an Asian to play a Asian i thought the film industry like to cast a white person to play a asian person.
  • I think if the characters look Asian, but there was no actual reference to their race, then they would be White, such as Avatar.

    Here, she was specifically stated as Asian-Canadian.

  • So... you're agreeing with me, since I said Hollywood would like to cast White people unless the person's name is like "Jimmy Chan" or something- You can't cover that name up with a white guy.

    Same with "Knives Chau"- you can't put a White girl and expect people to believe you.
  • I love scott pilgrim so much, and Edgar Wright is PERFECT to direct it, and so far all the casting has been flawless, this is one movie where i have absolutely no complaints
