Photo: Zack Snyder’s Watchmen Cameo

Did you know that director Zack Snyder actually appears on screen in Watchmen? Still photographer Clay Enos revealed to /Film’s own David Chen a photo of Snyder dressed up in military fatigues. As it turns out, the filmmaker has a small cameo in the scene where The Comedian is taking down enemies in Vietnam with a fire blast. Check out the full interview with Enos to learn other fun Watchmen tidbits in today’s Cool Stuff.

  • I love it when directors choose to do this. They've put a lot of effort into the whole project. They deserve it.
  • I would looooove to make a cameo in one of my own plays onstage someday... lol

is not the first time he does it, he has a cameo in Dawn of the dead intro when the marines shoot the reporters, hes one of the marines below the chopper.
  • I didn't know that, thanks for informing us.
  • yeah very good heads up. I'll have to check for that next time i'm watching dawn.

TOO MANY BANNERS in the WEBSITE now! Sucks ass.. Is New York Film Academy trying to suck up some poor young guys money just because he's into movies. . Slash Film, you guys are disgusting me with all the adds now.

who cares... I wish this movie would just come out already and then suck and then go away just as fast. This hype is so annoying.
  • I agree, but it is pegged to be one of the biggest so slashwatchmen.com are going to cover every little detail til it finally does get released. I'm just anticipating the red-faced backlash after the film barely does moderate numbers at the box office.
  • Nice to see Zack Snyder is actually in one of his best movies. I know we haven't even seen it yet, but I think the quality of the film will be good.
  • that is just a useless comment, my friend. good for snyder though.
  • I loved it when Peter Jackson didi it in the 3 Lord of the Rings movies.....I just wish I would have seen this for myself and not told by someone else.
  • Thanks I guess.
  • starfucker
    that is so Visionary
  • lol

I've watched the trailer over 100 times and I don't think I would have ever noticed that, haha. Thanks for the inside info /Film!
  • yeah, this seems very similar to his cameo in his dawn of the dead remake. which are my favorite kind of cameos. as stated before, peter jackson did the same kind of thing in lotr and they were AWESOME. they aren't like shyamalan's cameos (aka extremely self indulgent and drawing a lot of attention to themselves...or in lady in the water's case, making himself the most important character in the movie).

  • 24 DAYS!!!!
  • it's like alfred hitchcock. but less fun cause we always had to find his cameos. now we know of them. not as fun but still cool.
  • 23!!!!!!!
  • If i was a director i would put myself in all movies i made, even if its the smallest cameo possible, i would still want to be in my own work.
  • i think all directors should do cameos in their films! like the cherry on top of their film

Think he could have been in a more recognizeable cameo? Like a customer at Bernie's newsstand or something? Or someone in the Gunga Diner? Or someone in the crowd during Manhattan's interview?

    Jeez they'res alot.

He could have been someone saved in the apartment fires. He could have been one of the cops arresting Rorshach. He could have been a person during the riot scene. He could have been someone in the jail scene. He could have been a guy at Comedian's funeral. He could have been a person getting blown up when Ozy sends the bomb to Manahttan. He could have been anything, really.
