G.I. Joe First Look: Breaker, Viper, Cobra Comander and Zartan

The first batch of official identification card photos for G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra have made their way onto the interwebs. A bunch of previously unseen characters are featured. I have put together the image above which features the four new characters.

From left to right, Saïd Taghmaoui as Joe communications specialist Breaker, the Cobra Viper (a ground soldier, which is essentially the Cobra version of the Stormtrooper), third up is Joseph Gordon-Levitt as The Doctor (aka Cobra Commander), and fourth is Arnold Vosloo who plays Zartan, a master of disguise.

Is it just me or do these photos look horrible? When I first saw them I believed they must be fan creations. Gordon-Levitt can’t really have let them do THAT to him, could he? But it appears the photos are legit. You can check out all the information cards on HISSTANK.

im not going to lie as a kid i was a huge fan of the cartoon series and 3 3/4 figures but these just look horrible i really wanted this film to be good but so far everything i have seen for it just looks like garbage.

I almost expected this to be a "LOL" segment (it doubles as one, at least)... My favorite description has to be for The Doctor:

"...Some of his experiments deal with mind-control... and other questionable acts."

Reminds me of the villainous roster from Futurama:

What I thought was quite funny was these are supposed to be some sort of "official ID" and some of the pictures are of a pose. Look at Storm Shadow, it's like you posing for a passport photo with guns in your hands. Why couldn't they just take a normal headshot? They again on the old cards the picture on the infor card was always of someone running into battle!

I really think that some information got crossed somewhere. I believe that "The Doctor" is Dr. Mindbender. Read the info on the card and note the monocle. Granted it looks horrible, but no where does hisstank indicate that "The Doctor" is CC. I think some info on the site needs to be revised. Someone made a GI Joe Movie? I’m obviously a little behind but regardless base on what I seen here this movie is way to bad ass for the theaters. Hell it’s probably to bad ass for a straight to DVD release too. That’s right this movie is so bad ass it needs to go straight to basic cable. None of that premium shit. good god those are terrible! im not a big GI JOE guy, but who the fuck is The Doctor? i thought that Levitt mook was supposed to be Cobra Commander?

i have been hoping that this would beat alot of expectations and turn out to be pretty decent (kinda like Transformers, just a fun pop corn flick, very entertaining), but now im not so sure. those pics make me think it will be ALOT worse than people are predicting
