Besides the pic of Gyllenhal and the ET footage, is there anything new out there for Prince of Persia. I am really looking forward to it, I loved the games and think that the movie could be really cool.

You will never get a well developed video game movie, and there is one reason for that: A video game, no matter how well developed, isn't half as detailed orientated as a movie. Even though back stories in games ae vital, they are secondary to good gameplay and great graphics. So when your source material is so shallow, you hit the bottom of the bucket rather quickly when trying to expand on it. This is why comic book movie plots tend to be better for development into movies, cause the overwhelming amount of source material to create a new version of the property on film (although this doesn't always work, like in The Spirit) When you start off swimming in a shallow pool, don't be shocked when you hit your head on the bottom.

p.s.- megan fox would be great... a tank top and booty shorts with twin desert eagles on that broad... what more can a guy ask for???

I really do believe that Jolie made a perfect Lara Croft. With Craig and Butler, casting was never an issue for those films.

I just hope that, if they truly want a "reboot," that they will address the tone of the first two films, starting with the techno music. Get back to some classic themes and get a story that involves a lot more "hunt and discover" and they could have a great adventure film. "Adventure" being the key word.

to be honest i dont want Megan Fox to play Lara Croft the reason why shes not actress. she looks good but thats about it she has not proven that she can act at all plus Lara Croft is British no way Megan Fox can pull of a british accent at all. i think Rhona Mitra would be good as Lara Croft cause she did used to model as Lara Croft plus i dont mind an unknown to play Lara Croft.

im glad that Warner Bros doing it cause it looks so they are setting up making good movies now. the other two Tomb Raider movies was done by Paramount Pictures so it makes sense that they reboot the movie with a new distributor. this could be the second video game turn into movie that could be done right the first is Mortal Kombat 1 lol.

p.s. is there going to be a reboot of Mortal Kombat cause MK was distributed by New Line Cinema. Now New Line Cinema is a division of Warner Bros. so maybe Warner Bros might do a reboot of Mortal Kombat film.

An origin story might be interesting. I like those. Not enough around imho. Where did she get thos shorts? Those breasts? Those guns? Those breasts? Did she always have really long hair and wear shorts? Breasts?

I cannot imagine that anyone anywhere is in anyway or anyhoo interested in this, inevitabley, straight to dvd release.

Now we're starting to "rebooot" movie franchises that are less than 10 years old? Next up: let's reboot Alvin and the Chipmunks with a new Dave and and origin story about the chipmunks hard life growing up in the forest but singing how singing gave them hope in a troubled world.

The only one who was able to pull this off (acting wise) AND look the part was Angelina. (IMO). Anyone else (besides Megan Fox) would be too much of a no-name for any studio to bother banking on. The Tomb Raider name on its own isn't enough to get a third over the line.

well nobody else has been given a chance to play the character other than posing models....with all respect Angelina Jolie isn't the greatest thespian..... great acting isn't really needed for a role that involves looking good, shooting, fighting and scaling walls matrix style

Lara Croft hasn't struck a chord with the public lexicon since the Playstation one day.

This is pretty much true, but her character is pretty ideal for a female actioner. The Lara Croft name will still open a movie. Would you rather see a Shia Labouf Indiana Jones film, a 4th Mummy, a 3rd Treasure, or a new Tomb Raider film done right?____The obvious answer is "D" - something original, but I don't think we will be so lucky :)

depending on the success of Sherlock Holmes we could see Guy Ritchie directing..since Dan Lin is also producing that film

Being a girl who absolutely loves Tomb Raider, and Lara's complete badassery, I REALLY hope if they make another movie, that they make it less "aww, I'm a sex kitten who can kick your ass," to "I'm a bitch that can rip out your scrotum from your throat, and still be a LADY."

It seems to me that Jolie had the proper take on the character. Lara's demeanor is something they actually got very right.

If you think back to the scenes with any men, Lara was always the badass in control. Mocking Craig in a towel....handcuffing Butler. As much as people might not want to admit it, that is something that few actresses besides Jolie can pull-off convincingly. The base sex appeal of the Lara Croft character is a lot of tickets, so its got to be there. It would be a mistake to ignore that. In that respect, Fox is a no brainer, but they would be silly to only cast based on that criteria.

Perhaps, this is an opportunity for an actress to break-out a previously unseen attitude, but the list of possibles provided in this thread doesn't look too promising. Maybe Olivia Wilde. Catherine Bell? Summer Glau could be interesting.

I'd have to think Jessica Biel would want the role. She could definitely do the action and has no problem in the looks department.

pllllzzzzzzz get angie to do tha next films. yes pt2 was bottom of the barrel GARBAGE but i LOVED pt1. i thought she was the perfect choice for Lara. if she did Wanted she could do this no problem. i hope they get a good director lik simon west from the first 1 or someone better.

Angelina was a pretty great Tomb Raider. I wish they would say with her but I guess she could be getting to old or getting to whatever you want to call it. Anyway, hope the new girl is a hottie.

well if megan doesnt want the role they should have a open casting call that would be awesome to give someone who wants a chance... i liked angelina jolie as lara. the movies were ok video games are amazing they should start the movies from the very first video game .....

No way in hell Megan Fox could play Tomb Raider, she is hardly the right person for the part, sure she has a pretty face, and can act I suppose, but she just doesnt suit the part, and her physique doesnt match, Lara croft is strong and muscular in a flattering way, while Megan fox is just skinny and toned. In my opinion I thought Rhona Mitra was a good Tomb Raider model, this is my opinion, so maybe Im not dead on with the sex appeal guys seem too look for in Tomb Raider, I just know that I love the games and Lara Croft is an amazing character who shouldnt be played by just any new pop culture celebrity.

In my opinion the best person to take over the role of Lara Croft is Rhona Mitra, she's got the look and she has been a bad ass in some other film roles she's played. Check her out! :D
