To help promote The Alamo Drafthouse’s screening of The Godfather this month, the best theater ever has commissioned three poster prints for the film. Check them out after the jump.

The dynamic duo of Billy Perkins and Jeff Kleinsmith have gone head to head with a Impressionistic vs. Realistic poster set. Billy’s measures 18×36, 4 color with a deep brown metallic copper background, is signed and numbered by the artist, and is printed by D and L out of Seattle.

Jeff Kleinsmith’s print measures 24×36, is 4 color, signed and numbered by the artist, and is printed by D and L.

But I’m really digging Tim Doyle’s rendering of the scene right before the infamous line “Leave the gun… take the cannoli.” Doyle’s poster is a long 12×36, 5 color, signed and numbered by the artist, and is printed by D and L.

All the posters are available for a limited time on Mondotees.com for $30 each or $75 for the set of three. Doyle’s poster is also available in a variant printed on wood panel for $60 on GigPosters. Limited to only 15.

  • The Drafthouse artwork is awesome.
  • Great photos! I agree the third one is the best
  • My favorite as well.

Just scored the wood panel variant of the cannoli poster! Thanks to /Film for continuing to post these Alamo Drafthouse posters... for anybody on the fence, they really put out quality merchandise.
  • Thanks for the info
  • Damn, I wish there was a theater by me that was as cool as Drafthouse.
  • Awesome poster. My favorite scene in that movie is the killing of Paulie. Such a perfect image that I never hear anyone talk about.
  • If only I had the money I'd be collecting these for sure.
  • If you get a big enough big screen and some awesome movies to watch. All that would be missing is the poster!
  • If you say so. If you've been to the Drafthouse before, then you would know there is more to that place than a cool poster for an older movie played on a big screen. It's not like going to AMC and watching The Godfather. It's an event. Not to mention table service. I would take a movie at the Alamo Drafthouse over a sticky floored regular movie theater any day.
  • I disagree. I have a room in the house that used to be an observatory that I've converted into a small theater. I took advantage of Black Friday and went out and bought me a 67" LED DLP 1080p HDTV, and also hit up the local Rent-a-Center for 5 reclineable chairs at a discounted price.

I've started to decorate the walls with memorabilia, and increase my DVD/Blu-Ray/VCR Tape collections as well. My girlfriend loves the room and doesn't mind serving up the food during movies or the games either.

I see what your saying but with Netflix, this room has turned into one of the best ideas I have ever had!

I'd rather be in that room than the Alamo Drafthouse anyday of the week. And I've been to the Alamo Drafthouse.

So like I said before, all that's missing is the Poster! haha

    ;)
  • Just had to trump with some observatory into the eyes of heaven with the sound of angels in hi-def on a seat of gold, eh? Well to say that I am jealous of that awesome set up you have would be an understatement. I would still love to have a Drafthouse close to home. But, I would love to have a home that is close to Drafthouse (in concept of course). :)

    Black Friday...I tell you!
  • Not trying to trump anyone. All you really need is a little bit of space, a vision, and some motivation and you can have the same set up.

I will visit the Drafthouse every chance I get though!
  • looks awesome.
  • Absolutely gorgeous work inspired by a brilliant film. I really need to kcik back and watch this again very soon.

except for the fact that it looks nothing like Pacino/Michael Corleone....

    best theater ever!

Does anyone know what is the significance of the Jeff Kleinsmith poster, the one with Horse's head and spilled blood? I know the horse's head significance but I couldn't understand what does the artist mean showing the bird's body and legs?

    Thanks
