NSFW: Crank 2 Movie Trailer

A promotional movie trailer for Crank 2: High Voltage has hit the web at IntralinkFilm. The trailer is packed to the brim with swears, nudity and all sorts of cool NSFW stuff. Jason Statham is back as Chev Chelios, in the direct sequel to the insane, unstoppable, 2006 action film Crank. In the sequel, Chelios faces a Chinese mobster who has stolen his nearly indestructible heart and replaced it with a battery-powered ticker that requires regular jolts of electricity to keep working. Neveldine/Taylor shot the film using consumer and prosumer digital video cameras, promising to present some of the most insane handheld action ever seen on the big screen. It looks even more insane than the first film, almost like the ultimate B-action movie. Watch the trailer below and leave your thoughts in the comments below. Thanks to AICN for the tip.

Crank 2: High Voltage is set to hit theaters on April 17th 2009.

I'm enjoying the completely opposite nature of the comments on here. It seems like you either think it's the worst piece of classless cinematic garbage to ever be released, or you think it looks like an amazing dumb action movie. NO middle ground.

Personally, I was pleasantly surprised by the first film, and the second looks to promise more. Count me in.
  • this looks like the closest thing to injecting caffeine into my eyes I will ever come into contact with.
  • YES!
  • 'Crank' was all about pushing the enjoyment boundaries, copious amounts of sex and violence = enjoyment, which is why the first film was so enjoyable, yet this film looks to push the boundary even further! I'm anticipating this film's release. "F**k you Chelios."
  • Now I really need to see the first one.
  • pmharrell
As one of the faggots who like bullshitty arthouse movies, I think this movie looks fucking sweet!
  • Looks like they took Crank put it on Stupid Pills and made it as over the top as they could. Even so I'll be there.
  • AlexanderSupertramp
You'd might as well see Uwe Boll's Postal if you're going to watch shit like this.
  • Comparing anything Uwe Boll's done to anything done by anyone else is flawed logic as Uwe Boll is his own genre: Crap.
The only reason to ever sit through a Uwe Boll movie would be if it starred Jason Statham, Burt Reynolds, Ray Liotta, John Rhys-Davis, and Matthew Lillard or "In the Name of the King"
Basically I'm saying anything made by anyone ever in the history of the world other the Boll is going to be better to watch than something he made. So I.E. since Crank 2 was made by someone else, it's going to be better than sitting through Postal.
  • Yes! Yes! Yes!
My god this looks awesome. Looks pretty good for filming with a bunch of consumer cameras, 'eh?
  • Spooky
    Awesome!
Somebody in Hollywood watched Takashi Miike movies and took notice.
  • Explain what you think is shitty.
  • brian
the idea of a being recharged with random shocks, being awake during on open heart surgery then getting up to fight in the middle of it, the idea that swearing makes a movie cooler, horrible use of chapelle's show reference, the shitty camera work, and pretty much everything in the trailer. I don't see a guy running around shooting people, screwing, and touching electrical sources as as anything but some high schooler jerking off on a page and calling it a script. but its all in the name of entertainment so i guess thats okay.
  • mike
dude did you even see crank? that is exactly what that kickass movie was. and this only looks better.

i'm glad to see chester is in this movie also
  • Loved the first and this looks like it'll deliver more high voltage entertainment! Box quote ftw!
  • I couldn't stand the first one but this looks insane... like what the first one should have been.
  • I think this could be one of those movies that is absolutely like nothing that has come before it, and I love how it seems everyone involved is just having the time of their lives. I also think that without Jason Stratham this movie wouldn't get a second glance, but I think that this kind of role is exactly what he's good at.

I also love the behind the scenes take at the end.

    AS IF.
This movie is junk. I'm grateful the studio release this trash trailer, cuz now i know not to even bother. the first one was crap, and this one looks even worse. i'd be embarassed to work on this... Jason Statham could have been the next big thing. Now he's making camcorder movies. And what happened to Amy Smart's career???? She'd be better off making Lifetime television movies...
  • LOL the part where hes doing her is Santa Anita race track..
  • stevie g
and now i have a boner...
  • WTF!? I'm seeing this! The first one was so outrageous I couldn't dislike it! This looks like they pushed it even further! I didn't think it was possible! This movie embodies everything rock in an hour and a half! Its so over the top I know I'll love it for what it is. plus, a cameo by Chester Bennington from Linkin Park, thats cool with me too!
  • Dylan
haha i read the script a few months ago and this movie will own.
  • Alex E-Ham
I'm only seeing this becuase they shot it with XH-A1's and Canon vixia cams. but it'll most likely get no more than a 4/10 on imdb. Jason Stathem is really letting his career go, He should have stuck with doing movies like snatch and such.
  • theaveragedave
do you have the XH-A1 by chance?
  • Scott
... Yes. He should have sat around and done nothing for the 8 years between Snatch and RocknRolla. Then he could be in the same league as all those other incredibley successful household names created by Guy Richie. Like Nick Moran and Dexter Fletcher... oh wait who are they?

Sarcasm aside, he could atleast have bounced off Snatch and done more tasteful pictures. Like Vinnie Jones did. Tasteful pictures such as Eurotrip and Garfield 2: A tale of 2 kitties... oh wait.

Face it dude, Jason Statham is fucking dope and kicking ass career-wise. Pete nailed this movie by calling it the ultimate B-action flick. I was really not keen on this movie until this trailer and now i'm fucking excited.
  • Crank 3, Statham in Space. It's coming, look to the T-Shirt.
  • what's not to love....
Amy Smart and did I see a shotgun get placed in the back of a VW?
  • I'd like to think everyone involved with the film understands it's all about shock value...and the first film was a great small scale action flick...I'm starting to appreciate the skills of Neveldine/Taylor as a film making team...This trailer makes me wonder what they did with Game..hopefully we see some footage online from that project as well soon...
  • Josie
This trailer makes me wonder where they went to film school.... how easy is it for somebody of average intelligence and skill with above average ego to create a movie(s) thatdefecate all over the art of filmmaking.
  • Scott
How do you even stand upright under the weight of your own ego?

Firstly, Spielberg got rejected from University of Southern California 3 times and was a C student. But he obviously also "defecates all over the art of filmmaking" because of this.

Secondly, If you just didn't like the movie that would be sweet, but youre trying to look cool infront of the internet and pretend youre some high-brow connoisseur of film who finds such films pretty and beneath you. Way to assert your superiority, I'm sure the internet finds you much cooler for it. Adjust your beret and go back to your film class where you can sit around and watch Metropolis on loop and discuss how German expressionist silent films are the epitome of cinema.
  • Hunt
I got to agree with ya, although ya did just go a little will hunting on us just then, but its understandable considering the amount of film school morons we got parading around out there.
  • Jesus crist!!! THAT WAS FUCKING SICK!!!!!!! Def. see opening weekend. I also loved seeing Chester in a movie that includes his band. Fun little trivia.
  • not all movies are going to be oscar caliber...don't be so jaded...some films are just made to entertain the market audiences...
  • not all movies are going to be oscar caliber...don't be so jaded...some films are just made to entertain the market audiences...I'd rather see Crank 2 than Taxi 5..it's not just Americans who make these type of films...
  • The first film was advertised as a good thriller, then it turned out to be just mindless action. They didn't even try it with this one. Count me in!
  • Akira
I'm agreeing w/ Christopher on this one. I'd watch it just to appreciate the Dave Chappelle / Wayne Brady reference again... "Is Doc Miles gonna have to choke a bitch?"... Greatness. lol
  • Brad
I like how they've gone fully ridiculous this time.
  • bones360uk
loved the 1st film and wen i heard there was a sequal i didnt care that it wouldnt make sense but my hopes n dreams for this movie was dashed wen i noticed the linkin park faggot makin yet another needless appearence and then cursed the trailer with their horrific "music".god damn pop "rock"
  • Looks like they've definitely topped themselves with this one... but the filmmaker in me has to ask, will there be any plot left? :-P
  • "What's this? Dangerously high voltage? Well I don't need any gloves, because I'M HOMER SIMPS-"*BBBZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZTTTT*
  • Palmer
So, was I the only one who was counting how many times they said the word "fuck?"
  • Fir3Wolf
Looks every bit as great and over the top as the first one. The action looks way more over the top and just seems like it is going to be a very fun ride, can't wait for this one.
  • PS: What happened to Statham's career? Lock, Stock and Snatch to this and a Stallone movie? Ugh.
  • Stallone's back! Didn't you see Rocky Balboa or Rambo?
Yeah me neither, either way The Expendables still sounds awesome, so don't blame Statham for that one before you've seen at least a trailer for it.
  • really? REALLY?

Stratham isn't a Di Caprio. He's a dancer/model/actor who, in my opinion, has the intelligence enough to know that if he wants to have a successful career as an actor he should play to his strong suits - high energy action sequences and dead-pan performances. Statham has done more than 25 movies since LSATSB and Snatch, none of which would be considered to be anywhere near the critical success of his first two films. And that movie that you're referring to as the "Stallone movie" is really a "Roger Corman" remake. Roger Corman, who I'm sure you remember helped begin the careers of almost every a-list actor/director to come out of the '70s by giving them jobs working on shitty movies made just for entertainment.

How's that view from your high horse? Can you see my ass? I want to show you my ass.
  • Yea, and it's still going to have Stallone's fingerprints all over it.
  • Are you talking about The Expendables? Because I don't think it's a remake of a Roger Corman movie, although I could be wrong, if so which one.
Or are you talking about Death Race which doesn't have anything to do with Stallone.
  • here, let me help you out: http://tinyurl.com/a82sd3
  • I think zinkywinks was referring to The Expendables, the new movie Stallone wrote and is directing which stars Stallone, Statham, Jet Li, Forrest Whitaker and Dolph Lundgren.
  • greycolumbus
No holds barred. I'm a little saddened that there's going to be extensive coverage on Amy Smart's chest.
