Bruce Boxleitner Returns for TRON 2.0

Bruce Boxleitner has signed on to return in TRON 2.0, according to ComingSoon. Boxleitner played Alan Bradley, aka TRON, in the original 1982 Disney film Tron, and will reprise his role in the sequel. Previously announced, Jeff Bridges will reprise the role of Kevin Flynn, Olivia Wilde and Beau Garrett have also joined the cast. You might also notice that I called the film TRON 2.0, and not TR2N. Both the trades and IMDb have now adopted the new title, which makes me believe that Disney has finally come to their senses and have decided to return to the more logical sequel title.

In the original film, Bridges and Boxleitner joined forces to outmaneuver the master control program that held them captive in the virtual computer game. Not much is known about the story of the sequel, but some have speculated that Bridge’s character is no longer fighting the good fight.

I wonder if this will cause any confusion with the somewhat, spiffy PC game of the same name.
  • I was partial to "TZNLOLZ!!!!1111" but Tron 2.0 fits the bill.
  • awesome
  • Joe Newman
    Tron 16-bit
  • why the hell do people like Tron? I watched it again after a long-ass time, and boy, what a crappy, shitteous movie. I can't believe that this piece of crap has a cult following.

Tee arr too enn would be a horrible title, but I don't care for Tron 2.0 either. Why not just call it Tron 2 and dispense with the cute/lame bullshit?
  • Its part love for the terrible graphics (which where ground breaking and revolutionary at the time) and just love for the all out nerd fantasy-fulfillment of traveling inside a computer, obtaining powers, and being able to drive around on a light cycle.

There's definitely a reason that its a "cult" following like you said, it never really obtained any mainstream success.
  • Bruce Boxleitner is my uncle. Glad to see he is back in action.
  • If he truly is your Uncle, tell him B5 was an amazing show.
  • Harrison and Steve
excellent ........now bring back the orginal Sark and the MCP.
  • David Warner was Sark and the voice of the MCP. ;)

Tron 2.0 is a perfect fit in my opinion, and given the fact that virtually noone played the game of the same name, I don't think there'll be much confusion.
(It is an awesome game btw, I played it maybe 5 times already)

Like you said, it has a "cult" following for a reason, it never really achieved any type of mainstream success. Its just a fun movie to watch because of its abstract concept.
  • Right on, Pill. The concepts, ideas, and graphics were probably more interesting than the movie itself. I'm interested to see what they can do now that the technology is, like, 200x better.
