She's definitely got the looks for it, and she's a commendable actress.
I've read that there's gonna be no Penguin nor Catwoman in Batman 3, but I'd love it if Rachel Weisz steps in as the Catwoman.
As for the other rumours on Catwoman-- I'm not eager at all to se Scer as Catwoman. She's too old for the role, and Weisz suits the character more than her.

Nolan is more cleaver than to have tacky women running around stealing stuff in cat outfits. Goyer and Nolan managed to give exceptional depth to the Joker, who was originally just a guy that wore clown paint stealing shit. No doubt they would write in characters that have multiple layers. They would probably avoid adding more animal-based characters. I see them making a bigger deal out of mob characters, perhaps the Penguin (not in a Danny Devito sense) because that would follow up much more efficiently on the tail of TDK, which the "Mob" theme drove the entire TDK plot

I did not even think of Rachel Weisz as Catwoman, but now that I have heard the option considering her, I think she would do amazing as Catwoman. Angelina Jolie would too, but I'd like to see someone not so famous. Weisz would make Catwoman like Ledger made Joker. R.I.P. Heath.

Cher would be great until someone asks her to smile. That woman has had so much facial surgery and botox that it would be a joke just to watch her.

Rachel Weisz would be an excellent choice for Catwoman. I think it wouldn't be right to leave Catwoman out of the Nolaniverse (or whatever it's called) because she been in every other medium Batman is in.
Personally, I'd like to see Anne Hathaway take the part, to see if she'd pull off a Heath Ledger-esque performance. She has all the tools and ability to do it.

Catwoman is a really tough one to cast IMO, because she needs to be a great actress but also very beautiful and sexy and also very physical and able to look like she could be a catburgler. Like I said a tough one.

We need to see of the smaller bit players in the next one as well, Like Officer Montoya and Harvey Bullock. So who would play Montoya and Bullock? I could Rasario Dawson and maybe Tony Saprano (sorry names escapes me at the moment, but think he would play that part very well).

They have to re-focus the direction towards Bruce Wayne and Batman. I've watched the animated movie "Gotham Knight" and it has Bruce Wayne reminiscing on his days going to India and around the world to increase his knowledge in different arts (like going to the mountains to train like a ninja in Batman Begins). After Rachel Dawes death, he should travel to some mythical place to try to help him find peace. And when he returns back to Gotham, there's a bunch of new baddies to battle. I hope they don't bring back Catwomen BUT if they do, I'd like to see just one girl do the job, YVONNE STRAHOVSKY (from TV series Chuck)

Brad Pitt as Deacon Blackfire, and Black Mask played by either Johnny Depp or Bill Nighy, or Viggo Mortensen, or Ed Harris one of these four need to play Black Mask. We need to see black mask, or even the old school Mr. Freeze just like in the animated series, he had the coolest voice and killer red eyes. Just a fun filled thought.

Hmmm Viggo Mortensen is an intersting choice. A friend said John Malkovich and while I think he's a great actor I was thinking someone much younger. I don't think Johnny Depp has the edge needed to play that role. He's a great actor but need someon who comes across much tougher I think.

Black Mask (a friend said John Malkovich, but I'm thinking younger) and Dr.Hugo Strange would be great villians IMO. Strange would fit really well in Nolans world and Black Mask would the perfect next step, Batman Begins was mostly about the mob, TDK was about the excalation and the rise of the freak criminal to Gotham. So the next step would be the freak criminal who takes over the mob/underworld...Black Mask of course!

With Maroni appearing to be dead, Falconi in the nut house, it would seem the mob needs a new leader and would be the perfect time for someone bold (and crazy) enough to try.

Hugo Strange, well he could be someon working at Arkham who trys to find out the indentity of Batman. If you read the comic stories involving strange from like the early 80's I could see parts of that story fiting nicely into Nolans batman universe.

Philip Seymore Hoffman would be a great choice for Oswald Cobbelpot, that is if they went for that whole british arms dealer/mobster feel for him and not the cartoonish Penguin from tv series, tim burton movie or even the comice for the most part. More the most recent stories involving him in the comics that have really made him out to be a player in gothams under world.

i agree that she would be great. but it seems like a lazy story choice to go for the catwoman character, when it was done twice to not very good results (but batman returns was much better than halle berry's catwoman).

Obviously bunk, but if we're just dream casting, I don't like her for Catwoman, at one time maybe for Talia Al Ghul. Actually, I think she may have been a better choice for Rachel than Maggie.

As ridiculous it might seem, people were complaining about the casting of Ledger as the Joker in much the same way as this blog presented this casting choice. She's a talented actress but hopefully (if true) Nolan explores the origin of the character in a gritty, visceral way. Unfortunately, it seems as though Weiss might work in the Nolanverse as long as he can present her character legitimately and I'm sure he could. I wonder what their penning right now, in fact. They should make a minimum four movie arc at least at this rate and get Johnny Depp to play the riddler. Boom, $180 milllion opening weekend. Not so far-fetched.

Until Nolan confirms it, none of these rumors are true. I trust Nolan and his casting director to get whichever characters he chooses right. I'd love to see Catwoman given some justice as a character. Batman: Hush was mind blowing.

I really disliked the Constant Gardener, but she was excellent in it.

I actually wouldn't mind if Nolan fast forwarded to the future with the next movie. Set quite a few years after the events of The Dark Knight. We get to see how Gotham has been able to recover from the Narrows incident and Joker's rampage.

I dont like how she acts, but I think Nolan can use Catwoman in the next movie if he wants to, he can even make robin work if he feels like, if you saw Memento you know he can tell a story the way he wants.

Rachel is an amazing actress, one of the best working now. She will do justice for the film and the role.

I just hope they keep on keepin' on making these movies, and not end them, like Tim Burton did. Loved the Tim Burton versions, but these ones are friggin' rad. There is so much to work with and so many villians to choose from.

I think it's safe to say that you better take whatever idea you have of Catwoman and spin it on it's head to understand how or where the character will fit into any Nolan Batman. Weisz would be a good pick (liked her a lot in Confidence). They certainly could do worse.

In order to have a woman figure into the story, I think you can probably bet on at least one of the female characters appearing in a third film. That leaves you mostly with Catwoman, Harley, Talia, or Ivy. Of those four, I'd say that Catwoman is the obvious choice, but I can certainly see the argument for Talia.

I'd personally like to see Harley as an Arkham psychologist with a alluded references to her knowledge of Joker (from her Mad Love origin). At that point in her character arc, she isn't a criminal and allows for a character that Batman/Wayne might be able to use for information or some help as he grapples with his own identity issues. This allows for the film to tackle the main problems and key antagonists, whomever they might be. Speculation for Harley's future can be left to websites after the 3rd film.

Very true, if you think you know the way the Nolans and Goyer would use you'd more than likely be wrong, but also seeing Begins and TDK it would more than likely work.

I wouldn't mind seeing a cameo of Harley Quinnzell in Arkham but not as Harley Quinn of course. I would love to see some cameos and some smaller bit players from the comics like Officer Montoya and Detective Bullock. The doctor from Arkham would of course be Hugo Strange, it would just be a perfect way to introduce him into it of course.

I will not believe anything unless it's official by Warner Bros. or if Nolan signs on for the third. He feels that how can you top "The Dark Knight"? He doesn't want to disappointed the fanbase of the revamp.

Lets put it like this, whoever they pick for any role in a new batman film, we're all going to go see it anyway. As of right now, Weisz is great for the role, I wouldn't mind Angelina Jolie, wouldn't watch it if Cher was cast.

the real villian for the third film is going to be the public and the cops who believe the lie gordon and batman told. His struggle is not to fight the next badguy of the week, but to find a way to solve the chaos created in TDK.

The penguin wont work, too campy. the riddler would need to be brought to a nearly Se7en level of cruelty for his riddles to be anything more than campy, or unless they make him Jigsaw (and I think audiences are burnt out on torture p*rn). Cat woman isn't anything more than a nuisance.

Give us some minor villian (and someone with a low hollywood profile to play them), don't ask me which, and take them somewhere that hasn't been beat to death before.

I could definitely see Phillip Seymour Hoffman pull it off, much like he was truly mind blowing in MI3. I know he himself debunked every rumour about him playing the penguin and said that he wouldn't fit, but I still believe he would.
He is terrifying in Mi3.

She might not be a great actress but for some reason I really enjoy her movies...hmmm, I woner why? I do agree she shouldn't play Catwoman if she was in the next Batman movie. Maybe Montoya? She wouldn't be to bad in the role, plus it would be a much smaller role to boot. I would love to see Montoya and Bullock in the next movie. So who would play Harvey Bullock?

She's a great actor, and she's a spectacular beauty. I'd love to see her in the role, and let's face facts: Catwoman will be in a Batman movie soon. I trust Nolan to create a criminal Catwoman that makes as much logical sense as his Scarecrow, Ra's, Two Face and his and Heath Ledger's Joker.

Cat woman done right would be just as compelling as The Joker was in Dark Knight and with Christopher Nolan and hopefully Rachel Weisz on Board, it will be a great real world character study.

All that hard work to make Batman live in the real world-Catwoman would end that.

I don't see how, a cat burglar or any kind of burglar would be a common thing especially in a big city like Gotham. Bruce needs his love life back so he can forget about Rachel.
