The Los Angeles Times has a new photo from McG’s Terminator Salvation. Christian Bale plays John Conner in the future war between man and machines. The photo shows Conner walking into a factory where Terminators are produced on an assembly line. I was actually on set for some of the filming in the factory, but since I’m embargoed, more on that later. Click on over to LAT to see the photo in higher resolution.

I was expecting something like the T2 teaser. I guess this early in the war, SkyNet is utilizing factories that survived judgement day rather than building its own.

so tight, i'm psyched for this movie!
  • Awesome...the more they how, the more I'm looking forward to it. McG has a lot to live up to and it looks like he is not going to disappoint. Can he make the transition from lightweight candyfloss to something decent? Next year we will see
  • I can't believe I'm psyched for a McG movie...
  • This shot was actually in that new trailer from yesterday...
  • I've actually been on this set before at ABQ Studios in Albuquerque. It was pretty damn cool seeing some of the robots close up. I'd post more about what i saw but Peter will delet my post.
  • So exciting... If those are the Arnold terminators then he has to be in the movie.
  • You know, I curious to see if McG can pull it off too. His past movies don't give me much faith in him. I wasn't really looking forward to this movie, especially because he was attached. But after I saw the trailer, I'm now cautiously optimistic. I hope he can pull it off and be considered a legitimate filmmaker and this can become more than just a rip off of other post-apocalyptic/superhero movies. (Then again, was that the batman voice I heard in the trailer?)
  • I think this may just have surpassed Watchmen as my most anticipated of 2009.
  • Likewise, McG was the big turn-off for me when I heard about this project. But admittedly everything looks pretty damn spiffy. I'm still waiting for DVD though, they haven't sold me a cinema ticket quite yet.
  • Careful. Those Watchmen fanboys will skin you alive.
  • Watchmen has so much to live up to. I just can't help feeling we're in for an Indy 4 style letdown. Terminator, on the other hand will easily live up to expectations considering how low they are after T3.
  • Not factory-y enough.
  • Too late. He may never reply now.
  • Apparently he wanted to be in the movie but couldn't take time away from his position to shoot, so they CGed his face on another robot.
  • I remember hearing they were working on CGing his face but they weren't pleased with the result. I think they said that if they couldn't get it looking the way they wanted it was going to get cut.
  • That's because you can't hear the soundtrack. When you listen to the music they're playing under it, it totally makes it seem more like a factory:

  • Hehehe.
  • thanks for the info BigLion and krackajap. i really hope they put him in somewhere.
  • I'm avoiding all T4 stuff as I know it's going to be good or if not that, I know Ill see it so why spoil it anymore?

    Can't wait.

i think i want a job like peter has...exclusive sneek previews to movies, visiting sets....im in the wrong profession.where do i get an application from!! after being in the pharmaceutical industry for 15 years i need a scenery change.

I think McG has done everything right so far...surprisingly. All I know from him are the CA movies--which I thought were stupid and fun in that I watch it when nobody is looking way. We Are Marshall was an okay movie.
I worry about his style as a director, though, a trailer can hide a lot of the bad (and good, I suppose...).
Anyway, I'm not hating on him because from everything I've read and seen, he's doing a great job, and I really can't wait to see this movie.
  • does anyone know if theyre going to try to put arnold in this somewhere?
  • Peter, you've been on set?!? Can't wait to hear about it!
  • I wanna know that too...I really want to see Arnold (fully clothed preferably) just for that feeling of nostalgia of seeing the Original Terminator...
