Empire’s The 100 Greatest Movie Characters of All Time

Back in October, Empire Magazine released their list of the 500 Greatest Movies of All Time. /Film commenters were in disagreement over many of the rankings. I just noticed that Empire has released their list of the 100 Greatest Movie Characters of All Time. I’m not going to reprint the entire list, but here are the top 25:

    What was the criteria for ranking these characters? Popularity ? Effect on popular culture? Number of films? Recent popularity? Or the performance of the actor?

    Because if any of this is the case, then hell, the BOTTOM ten alone void this list. Randall Graves has no business being above Freddy Krueger.

    Yeah, she was in a (fairly) popular series of films, but Ellen Ripley has no business being above The Terminator, regardless of what anyone says.

    And the most telling part of this list is the fact that of all characters, Rocky Balboa is not in the top ten. Out. Rageous.

    Awesome to see who is number one but should have just pooled them all up and thrown them together for no one could be able to single out one person as the best or even for the top ten. They are all mostly good characters, save for a few, and the creative minds behind all of the characters should be happy they were put on there and leave us readers to not womanly talk about it all.
