New Line has released a new movie trailer, poster, and a bunch of new production photos for Ken Kwapis’ big screen adaptation of He’s Just Not That Into You.

The film has a wonderful cast: Jennifer Connelly, Drew Barrymore, Scarlett Johansson, Justin Long, Ben Affleck, Kevin Connolly (Entourage) (notice how I excluded Jennifer Aniston even though she’s clearly one of the leads? That was on purpose. I don’t like her very much. She is the opposite of wonderful). The film is about modern day relationships and how men and women often misconstrue the intentions of the opposite sex. The authors of the book that the film is based on were consultant and story editors on Sex and the City, which might give you a good idea what to expect.

Three more photos after the jump.

    Dear God that sounds awful.
  • Peter, I think you need to take Affleck out of that list as well.
  • Affleck is a good actor: Chasing Amy, Dogma, Good Will Hunting, Bounce, Hollywoodland, Boiler Room. It was easy for everyone to jump on the Affleck hate train when it was the popular thing to do when Gili was released, but the guy makes good movies (yes, he makes a lot of bad ones too... but he makes more good ones than most, and has more good performances than most). Also, his directorial debut Gone Baby Gone was impressive.
  • Maybe i'm just still mad about DareDevil.
  • Oi Vey
Jennifer Conelly and Scarlett Johansonn? I'm there, baby!
  • I'll agree to that.
  • Ryan
    What a bad poster.
  • I can't wait to hear Jennifer Aniston clear her throat two or three times during each of her scenes. Most...annoying...ever!
  • It looks like a big scrapbook of every romantic comedy poster ever.
  • What a god-awful poster. Looks like a complete amateur job. A mish-mash of hard-edged rectangle photos? Seriously that's the best they could do?
  • I can safely say I will not be seeing this, everything about it looks TERRIBLE
  • I agree with the above statement. Though I have never been a huge fan of his, it is undeniable that he has some good movies.
  • I can't get over how fake the situations look in the stills. Nothing looks even close to reality for me.
  • Cerisier du Japon
I'm surprised by some of the cast. To see Jennifer Connelly in a rom com, at least one like this is strange. She usually picks interesting projects. Maybe she needed the paycheck. Scarlett is also a surprise. I don't think she's the best actress out there but with the exception of the Nanny Diaries and now this?, I like the direction her career is going.

However, this movie is something I expect from Drew and Jennifer Aniston. Bad rom coms are their bread and butter. Although I am looking forward to Drew in Grey Gardens. I have my fingers crossed for that one.
  • Ben Affleck is Great!
Just forget some of that crap he did.
Gone Baby Gone is arguably the best film of the year.
  • I find it funny that E is the only person looking into the camera.
  • this poster is probably the gayest thintg i have ever seen. talk about fake!!! i've never seen so many happy people all at once, in my life. we're in a recession, there's too much happy going on in that poster. WAKE UP!
  • Kate
What has Jennifer Aniston ever done to you. So petty of you to post such mean things. I am disappointed in you.
  • J.D.
It's like they decided to make a movie out of most of the people on my "most annoying actors" list.
  • Sheesh
Yeah, I don't get all the hate for Jennifer too.
  • noeway1122
yeah, i don't really understand why peter was hating on jennifer. she isn't the greatest but she's pretty much harmless.
  • Carrie
Good lord. It's like someone took photos of all these actors that they really like but haven't seen them in that many things, and decided it was their dream cast, and photoshopped their pictures to make a poster.
  • Peter, hate Jennifer Aniston all you want, but I find it pretty unprofessional to deliberately rag on her because of personal distaste. Please rent and enjoy The Good Girl, if you haven't already. I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Also, if you're not going to list people in top-billing credits, feel free to omit Ben Affleck every time as well. I haven't jumped on the Affleck hate train because of Gili. He couldn't act WELL before that film.
  • That poster is just lame. Absolutely trying too hard to cash in on all the faces.
  • This is a blog, not a newspaper. The point is to give you my personal opinion. And yes, I have seen The Good Girl, and just because the screenplay was exceptional, doesn't mean Jennifer was anything more than passable. Last I checked, Ben Affleck has been nominated for various different awards including best supporting actor golden globe, while Jen has yet to get anything outside of her television statues.
  • They should just call this movie: People You Want To See Naked...and then reshoot the movie to deliver on the sentiment
  • That is the most logical comment I've read all day.
  • She raped me when I got drunk one night. Blood everywhere like that hallway in The Shining.
  • MichaelBay
That shit is rough business. BTW, fuck Jennifer Aniston. She's been in some of the worst films of the last decade.
  • Does Justin Long play Kevin Connely's gay lover in this one too, cause if so I'm there! Maybe Superman and the PC guy can get on the action.

This awesome sequel will be entitled "He's Just Not That Into Your hole"

Do they expect to cash in on the female audience when the book was written by an absolute douche of a human being.

My heart just cried a single tear of blood for the sake of humanity.
  • I am oddly enthusiastic about seeing this...
  • I like the expanding of the term "wonderful" to describe this trainwreck, a Jason Reitman film, and 'The Bourne' series.
  • Shouldn't the "that" of the title been italicized instead of the "not?"

I always thought that something like that should be read as (x) not being THAT into (y), not (x) NOT being that into (y).

That may have been the least comprehensive way to say that - for which I apologize.
  • Shawn
nope. that would be implying he's still someone into you. they really could've left that out but it's a phrase people say. the emphasis is on the correct word.
  • I hate the poster and the trailer was boring. Jennifer Goodwin had all the best lines and will likely be adorable in the movie, but I won't be seeing it. I know there are people who love the RomComs, but I'd like to see them fall into oblivion.
  • I didn't think it was mean, I'm just saying if you're gonna be reporting news might as well give all the facts instead of withholding regardless of how you feel about a person or situation. Isn't that what journalism is about? I mean it's obvious she's in the film from the poster but if she wasn't on it and you didn't mention it, she is a pretty big name star now compared to the other actors in the film.
  • Zubostl
Stop bashing Affleck. He was the bomb in Phantoms!
  • The highpoint of Affleck's career was Mallrats.. it's been all downhill from there.
  • wasn't this posted last night?
  • Nik Monroe
@pill I agree, strangly excited about seeing this, looks like it could end up being quite a charming film.
  • Now after seeing the horrible trailer, def not seeing this one! Looks beyond awful!
  • stb247
Seriously, everyone in that trailer is way too good looking for the film's premise. This is ridiculous. What's their target group? Ugly chicks, who can relate? Really? How? Unsuccsessful geeks, who wanna see their dreamgirls not gettin any, so they can feel better about themselves not gettin any? I don't get this.

I'll probably watch it just for Scarlet, even though we all know, that dip in the pool is not gonna be more explicit than what's shown in the trailer. Too bad.
  • I liked it the first time when it was called "Sidewalks of New York".
  • Unless they end up together like in the ending for Requiem for a Dream.

If they don't. Then I'll pass.
  • Exactly what i thought.

Anyway, am i the only one who think that the "Call Me" Heart looks like some kind of Ecstasy pill?
  • Yeah that's cool, if you have seen The Good Girl and still can't stand Jen, then that's fine. I just always recommend it to those who think she can only play Rachel... whiiiiiiiiiiiich I concede is kinda true. Especially in THIS flick (sheesh).

And you're right, Peter, this is a blog - and a very good one at that. In fact, this is the only movie-news joint I hit up every day, so thank you for your efforts!

As for Affleck, I guess can't stand Ben the way you can't stand Jen... so we'll just leave it at that :o)
  • roger thornhill
    take the video off!!!!
  • He was good in Good Will Hunting.
  • That poster has every possible Photoshop no-no in existence. All they need are "lens flares" on every box. Needs more bevels too.
  • molli
please DONT play video automatically, it makes browers slow you son of a bitch
