Cool Stuff: The Incredibles Porcelain Statues

If you’re a comic book geek, than chances are The Incredibles is one of your favorite Pixar films, if not one of your favorite films of all time. Unfortunately, when the film was released, Disney decided not to produce many collectables for the movie, which is a shame.

Enesco produced a series of statues as part of the Walt Disney Classics Collection. Both Mr. Incredible and Elastigirl statues have been honored with RETIREMENT by the Walt Disney Classics Collection, meaning these are the last of production, available while supplies last. Offered separately, the statues include a gift box and Disney Certificate of Authenticity imprinted with the signatures of Disney Master Artist and Creative Director David Pacheco and Disney Archives Director Dave Smith.

These statues hand-crafted of fine kiln-fired hand-painted porcelain with elements of hand-cast pewter authentically recreate in dynamic three-dimensions the superhero couple just as in film.

Presented on special insignia logo bases, Mr. Incredible (standing 9.5″ High) was sculpted by Kent Melton who applied his extraordinary talents as the lead maquette designer for the original Disney-Pixar film as well as for this statue. Available for $179.99 on Sideshowtoy.com.

Elastigirl (7.5″ High) was sculpted by Disney veteran animator and maquette designer Ruben Procopio. Available for $149.99 on Sideshowtoy.com.

Actually, that is a very good point - why haven't there been an Incredibles comic book or even TV series. It would be great.
  • Maybe because the film itself was bad?
  • I could get behind these figures....if I had the money.
  • Why would they release these now? Why not during the promotion of the film?
  • It would take one seriously hardcore fan to shell out for these bad boys. So much effort for such an interesting film choice... I wonder how many they'll sell?
  • Apparently you have never seen this movie.
  • kuscuba
My initial guess is not many just because of the fact that with a movie like this it doesn't seem like something someone would buy, especially since you need to shell out a good amount of money for it.
  • is it wrong that i find elastigirl strangely attractive mmm
  • carg0
how about a god damn sequel? y'know, something most pixar fans actually want...
  • i dont think so. shes a milf
  • there is a certain magic to disney merchandise. if i could afford it, i would buy it, because i happen to love this movie. im too poor.
  • These would be cool only if they were statues of anything other than the incredibles.
( i.e.: g.i. joes, star wars villains, he-man, gremlins) which reminds me, these remind me of the snowman's head Mrs. Deegle brings into the bank and accuses barney the dog of breaking. great movie, for the holidays!
  • Totally agree, loved the movie and have hoped for a sequel. Hell even a direct to dvd.
  • I did, most overrated animationfilm of all time.
  • These probably aren't craved by the Pixar Guys themselves so that's why they look funny. Still, if you are a collector, looks like a must have. Where is that Incredibles Comic Book we were all promised?
  • One of the beauties of Pixar imo is that they leave the film as is, not needing a sequel to possibly tarnish a film's reputation by simply adding to the plot of the original. This however does not include Toy Story. The first sequel was really good and helped the franchise and hopefully the third installment will be good as well. However, if Pixar did decide to make a sequel to this or any other of their films I would not be disappointed because I have liked everything they have put out and there is no reason why I wouldn't continue to like it as long as they keep expanding on the art of computer animation.
  • Brad Bird is busy with 1906. Maybe when he is done with that. He's not one to return to characters though. It was his magic that made the first one so keen.

besides, it would take nearly 4 to 5 years to make, so if it's coming, you wouldn't know till in late production.
  • It wasn't part of Disney's original line up of Pixar Films so it was a runaway hit. They didn't prepare since they didn't know what to expect. They brought in outside help, thinking it would just fill the gap between Finding Nemo and Cars (The original director of Cars sadly pasted away in a car crash so they halted production for a little while). Disney obviously never watched the Iron Giant and didn't know what they were getting when they brought in Brad Bird.
  • Why didn't you like it?

Oh, and considering this movie is on most people's Top 10 greatest animated films list including mine I would completely disagree that this film is overrated, let alone the most overrated animation film of all time.
  • wasn't a Cars 2 mentioned? thats unnecessary
  • Why is all this shit so expensive? You might as well list every item in The Noble Collection magazine.
  • Pixar is going to be releasing an Incredibles comic book very soon, it was announced
  • If it were free or cheap, it probably wouldn't be sought after, and in affect, wouldn't be cool stuff. Cool Stuff tends to be something that is an investment.
  • When is soon!?
  • You would think but it's put out the most money in both movie sales and merchandise so you can see where Disney is coming from when they want a sequel. Why do you think there is a Toy Story 3? Shoot, the title SCREAMS merchandise.
  • and cool.
  • Where is Frozone of Syndrome?
  • Wall•EPlaysPong
As much as I love the incredibles, I'd rather use that money for a blu-ray player to watch Pixar movies.
  • For the price I don't think it's worth it, I'd wait on the secondary markets to buy them. And actually NECA produced a moch better Mr. Incredible FS statue for much less money and much bigger as well. I'm not too keen on these, though Elastigirl as good, and I know Ruben always does a great job.
  • It wasn't funny, interesting, had none lovable characters, delivered nothing, just like finding Nemo. I don't understand why it's so loved in the USA but in other countries this film is pretty much forgotten.
  • Yeah, but still no date or general release time frame. Did they say anything about a window of time?
  • 9 feet of porcelain isn't worth 150 bucks. let alone 9 inches.
