Napoleon Dynamite’s Kip Directs Comcast Commercial

Ever wonder what happened to the actor that played Kip from Napoleon Dynamite? Aaron Ruell has been trying to make it as a filmmaker, and has since filmed a couple short films. Just recently Ruell directed a television commercial for Comcast, seen below.

  • it's a cool commercial, i guess. i like the kitchsy look of the commercial, it makes me think of Wes Anderson movies
  • Cody
    Pretty excellent commercial!

I like the symmetry of it, which Wes Anderson does use a lot, and it's definitely better than the work of some guy named Brett Ratner.

Sorry. I had to bring him up.
  • From Napoleon Dynamite's release on, whenever I introduce myself to people, they always ask, "Oh, like from Napoleon Dynamite?" Oy.

But it's a pretty good commercial.
  • WOW THIS WAS CERTAINLY EXCITING NEWS.
  • @ aqualeo

give him some credit, he was funnier than that.
  • JesseGouldsbury
That was actually a lot cooler than I thought it would be.
  • Eric
Still better than Brett Ratner's Guitar Hero spot
  • Rick
    Comcast should burn. 'nuf said...

I have to watch this again. When it cuts to the reverse shot of the people, is this from the tv's pov or does the left side tv also represent the person sitting on the left. Actually I dont really care about my comment now.
  • Steve
He gave money to support Prop 8.
    What an asshole.
  • I wonder why no one ever wanted him in more movies after Napoleon Dynamite.
He was just as funny as Jon Heder.
  • To answer the question, I honestly never wondered what happened to him. Good to see he is getting paid (by satan).

His short films are amazing. I saw one at Sundance a couple of years ago. He is also in a great indie film (as an actor) called On the Road with Judas which is totally worth checking out.
  • amazing!!!!!!!!!
