Michael Moore vs. The Economy

Michael Moore has supposedly decided to rework his latest documentary to focus on the United State’s recent economic problems and the global financial crisis. Originally set around the United State’s foreign policy and the aftermath of the Bush administration, THR says that the yet-to-be-titled film will now have a “end-of-the-empire tone”, which Moore hopes will give it “a more general feel that will untether it from a specific political moment.”

Once referred to as a sequel to Fahrenheit 9/11, Moore later went on to call it a book end to the series of films he has made over the course of the last two decades. Moore’s first film Roger & Me focused on American downsizing, and specifically that of the affects of the auto industry’s departure from Michigan. It will be interesting to see what Moore concludes from his six-film journey. I think many will admit that Sicko was has most mature film to date. Overture and Paramount Vantage have the distribution rights to the film, which could hit theaters as early as this spring.

"I think many will admit that Sicko was has most mature film to date"

I'm certainly not one of them, if anything it finally proved Moore is a bit of an over simplifier. His take on the French and British health services made you question the rest of his 'facts' and he also only seemed to interview people who already agreed with him.

Bowling For Columbine might go down as the best for me. If only for the heart it had. But even that just devolved into an over edited attack on an old man in an attempt to give the film some kind of d'enouement.

Either way, Feuer is right, Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Considering that economists are still debating what all the causes of the current economic crisis are and just how bad the upcoming recession will be, it seems doubtful to me that Moore will contribute a insightful thought on the matter. My guess is it will amount to little more than a basic propaganda piece, and we all ready have enough clueless commentators on both sides of the aisle using today's crisis to further there agenda.

Moore is anything but insightful. He doesn't even try to look at something from a neutral position.

Sicko was wonderful, until I saw it I didn't know Cuba was paradise!

Bleh. Roger and Me is his best film.

And next he will retool Fahrenheit 9/11, to support his idea that Unicorns are real.

I tend to enjoy his movies... admittedly because I agree with him much of the time. That said, I take what he says as fact with a grain of salt.

Really? The only people who's going to accept this film are uneducated college students.
  • GetOverItYouLost
Michael Moore is catnip to conservative assholes who always need something to bitch about.
  • GoBama, Dont screw up
God I can't stand Michael Moore. Gotta agree with GregoryV. When I was in school, they absolutely ate up F:9/11. Took it all as absolute truth. Anyone who's at least remotely educated knows that Michael Moore is full of sh*t (and chili dogs)
  • Wasn't Paramount Vantage one of the umpteen studio subdivisions (New Line, Picturehouse, etc.) that shut down this year? Or is it the only remaining one?

I wonder if Michael will be covering this angle???

On November 15th the Group of 20 meets in Washington D.C. to assess the global economic and banking crisis.......They are meeting to establish a new "Bretton Woods" agreement in which Robert Zoellick the World Bank President suggests "we must modernize multilateralism and markets for a changing world economy" READ THIS ONE AS THE U.S. GIVES UP SOVEREIGNTY OVER ITS ECONOMY INTO SOME NEW WORLD ORDER CENTRAL BANKING GROUP....AND THE DOLLAR IS NO LONGER THE CURRENCY OF WORLD TRADE.

What this will mean is massive devaluation of the Dollar and as hyper-inflation sets in that Americans will be thrown off a cliff into the abyss of economic Hell while taxes will have to go through the roof , just as we join civilian work gangs after losing our jobs and homes. Meanwhile Illuminati Bankers will have stolen $trillions and reclaimed all real estate and their human chattel. If there was ever a time to Prepare.......it was yesterday...
