Just finished reading Watchmen for the first time last night. Wow. I flew through the last 150 pages without stopping. I really hope they dont screw up the ending too much. maybe the screening they just had really did have a dummy ending?

The nuke that was shown near the end with SSII and Nite Owl II kissing was a part of Nite Owl's dream in the graphic novel, if you've forgotten.

But anyway, can somebody PLEASE post that thing, I've been checking youtube nonstop..

I really enjoyed the new footage, although I wish it wasn't crappy YouTube quality. Hopefully it'll be 'officially' released soon.

I just can not see Snyder changing the ending. This whole time he has been completely adamant about not changing it. He has even been qouted as literally saying he did not change the ending. The guy has been so damn good about every single little tiny detail for him to have gone and screwed up something THAT huge just seems ridiculous. The whole point of the giant squid was to avoid nuclear detonations, so how would causing them fix that exactly? It's just not logical.

Favorite part: When Rorschach shoots himself up to the Comedian's apartment and lands on the window sil. Talk about an entrance!

Snyder will be faithful to the source material, that's for sure.

Anyways, am I the only one who thought the effects looked really meh on such a small screen? I am sure it will be incredible in IMAX when it's released.

Looks pretty good. I could care less if they changed the ending, as long as it delivers the same idea, that's the main part. The squid monster was ridiculous and seemed unconventional in a bad way.

the only thing that looked slightly odd was when Manhattan destroys the tank. that looked cheap as. almost like it was a temp shot, yet to be fully completed. did anyone else think the same?

The Scream awards made me feel i was going blind. Couldn't stand it.

Anyone who doesn't praise God and Zack for getting this movie "right" should be barred from ever seeing it. If I have to miss seeing the "squid" to see even a minute of Rorschach being his bad ass self then its worth it to me. Quit yer bitchin and just prepare the sweetest peice of geekdom since the Dark Knight or Iron Man. Its a good time to be a fanboy so can we all just get along? Who watches the watchmen? I WILL BE!

Looks great and I am more excited every time I see things about it. A bit bummed about the whole ending change issue but I'm sure it will be an amazing film.

This looks visually amazing. I absolutely loved the shot where Patrick Wilson and Malin Akerman kiss with the bomb going off in the background. Beautiful use of discordant colors with the green/orange.

What was cool if you attended the Scream Awards , is that they had the actual Owl Ship on the Red Carpet.
You could see it fully litup and functional. It looked very cool..........

Reggie I also agree that was a great shot, with the nuke in the background. I also loved it when Night Owl jumped out of the Owl Ship as it was flying.

this movie looks fucking incredible, and i personally think that they did use a dummy ending when screening it to people because Zach Snyder doesn't really change his comic book adaptions. I dont no this for sure but if u look at the 300 movie vs. the comic it was like, line for line the same thing. I hope they keep the squid man it was awesome.

Who would complain about a lack of new footage. That trailer was comprised of a majority of completely new footage. Anyways, looks amazing.

What I loved:
*Nite Owl/Silk Spectre kiss with mushroom cloud in the background - I really didn't think Zach would include the dream sequence..
*Comedian through the window
*Archie in Antartica
*Manhattan's hand coming through the window to get Veidt

What I didn't like:
-Rorschach's movements... was it me or did he just seem very Spiderman-esque?
-About 80% of that trailer were shots of Silk Spectre II.
-Hopefully Dr. Manhattan's VSX are not done yet, because during that scene with the tank.. it looked like something I could've conjured up on PowerPoint '02.
-Smashing Pumpkins song... should've played the Phillip Glass song used in Comic Con footage or the actual score from the film by Tyler Bates

I;m not sure what's with the complaining about not much new footage. There was a lot more new footage than I was expecting.

You have to take it for what it is: A little promotional teaser to try and make the awards show seem more important than it was and not a full-blown trailer.

Wait until a new theatrical trailer is released.

I enjoyed that but I think I want a proper trailer now. QoS here I come.

oh and the tank looked INCREDIBLY cgi. they should have saved that shot til it was finished. felt like a cutscene from a videogame. other than that, hot shit!

I should really get back to reading the Watchmen, though. I can't believe I haven't finished it. This romantic sub plot is boring me to tears though. But they usually do in all forms.

anyone that refers to watchmen as "the watchmen" is not a true fan of this graphic novel or film.
