Yea I saw this spot during Saturday Night Live. I understand if they need to edit the title for daytime...but for late night!??!? I don't think that any child who is watching TV after 10:30 (central time zone) is going to to have to worry about what a porno is, as much as actually SEEING ONE.

God damn it, America. This, unfortunately, kill be the death knell for this film. I'm looking forward to it, of course, but many of friends, who don't read film blogs or generally follow the industry will likely write this off as a slightier "dirtier-than-average" romantic comedy.

I see... this way Americans can stay 'pure' while they watch tv shows... so in between Smallville decapitation, CSI rape and gun violence in any given daytime show they will not be corrupted by the word 'porno'... makes sense.

I knew this would happen. Many of us don't see it as that big of a deal, but Kevin Smith should have known something like this would happen.

Funny enough, I live in Toronto, and everywhere I go I see the Zack and Miri poster where they're blowing each other. I guess we don't really care that much about it :p

They should have continued with the whole "...have made a film so crude we can't show you the whole title..." theme. That would have at least left intrigue. This TV spot just basically shuts the film off entirely.

The worst is that they not only had a title card that says Zach and Miri but the voice over said the name of the "wrong" movie. I'm kind of surprised that Kevin Smith didn't make more of a stink about this. He went to bat to have nothing more cut from the movie I'm surprised he could live with this. Although I'm sure it has more to do with the Weinsteins!

so its ok to call a movie 40 Year Old Virgin or The Spy who Shagged Me but its not ok to use the word porno.

Hostel and Saw adds show people being tortured and screaming in agony but that's fine. the WORD porno is really what needs to be banned. CSI literally shows people being chopped up with an ax but i guess that's fine since its violence. its not as scary as the work PORNO.
