George Nolfi To Write Fourth Jason Bourne Film

So what’s the latest on the fourth film in the Jason Bourne series? Last we heard, producer Frank Marshall was hoping to begin shooting next Summer for a 2010 release. Paul Greengrass and Matt Damon have already signed on, all they need now is a script. Today it was announced that Universal is serious about doing a fourth film, hiring George Nolfi to write the script. Not only was Nolfi a co-writer on Bourne Ultimatum, but he also wrote Ocean’s Twelve.

The next film in the series will not even be loosely based on one of the novels, but will instead be an entirely new adventure (with a possible South American destination). From what I understand, the sequels to the original Robert Ludlum novels left much to be desired. Lets hope that Nolfi can come up with something better.

Ughhh...Am I the only one that didn't like any of these movies????

    Yes you are.

Having said that, I kinda wish they didnt make another Bourne film. The Trilolgy is kinda perfect as it is.
  • I think the series is underrated actually. Matt Damon is a pretty versatile dude.

I dont understand. Actually wanted to post something on this earlier. These movies shouldnt have even been called Bourne etc... Theres very few similarites between the movies and the books. The movies lack a plot, also I actually love the movies, but they do lack a plot. Its been several years since Ive read them, but from what I recall everything that was covered in the movies was what was based loosely after the first novel. In the books Jason has a nemesis named the jackel which plays his counter part through out the novels, and he is f***ing kick ass. Btw, the jackel was a real terrorist in the 70s. Jasons wife survives in the second one and is the set up for the third one. If they wanted to they could actually just base the movies off of the bourne supremacy novel in which he works for the government. I cant remember his incentive. But ass much as I love the movies, theyre really not anything more than a consistent chase. Its my opinion if they had actually made ludlums novels into movies, they would have been 10x better. Theres actually a scene that I vividly remember reading in the bourne supremacy where an assassin is dressed as a priest in a restaurant, he pulls out two uzis and kills every one in there. How amazing would have the been to see on screen?

    Ocean's 12 was terrible. So, there's that.

I am a big fan, but the whole memory thing is played out. I cannot sit through another I cant remember movie. They better introduce something much different this time around or I will be disappointed.

As long as that aspect is different then sign my up for a viewing.

I also think the trilogy was perfect as is. He began in the water in the 1st one, and ended there in the 3rd. Sellout move by Damon but hey, gotta keep the checks rolling in. Expect a 4th Ocean's movie any day now. In memory of Bernie Mac of course.

3rd one wrapped things up perfectly. Dont make any more.
  • The trilogy ended on a good note. Still though I'm interested with what premise they're going to come up with this time. He already knows who he is and the people after him at the CIA have been taken care of. Where to go from here?

it's weird to me...bourne and lotr are, imo, the only perfect movie trilogies out there...not a weak link in the bunch - and they're both having sequels that could alter that status! fingers crossed.
