Seth Rogen’s With Cancer

Seth Rogen will produce I’m With Cancer, an autobiographical based on the experienced of Will Reiser, a producer on HBO’s Da Ali G Show and VH1’s Best Week Ever. Reiser’s spec script tells the story of a 25-year-old who learns he has the disease. Rogen will not however play the lead, but will instead have a supporting role in the film. Mandate Pictures is fast tracking the project, and will begin searching for a director later this month.

I hope that this will be better than Knocked Up, if it's better than Knocked Up I'd be happy to see Seth Rogen with Elephantitus of the nutsack.

Reiser's book was fantastic, and he's quite a funny stand-up and warm-hearted seeming guy, so I'm looking forward to the direction he comes at a film like this.

If jokes like "Elephantitus of the nutsack" are avoided, then it might be fine. That's pretty juvenile. If only it stayed in the nutsack, then that might be funny, but unfortunately testicular cancer is one of the fastest spreading forms of the disease and if not caught early enough, it can proliferate in your brain requiring extensive surgery as Chemo doesn't work in your head.
Since self-deprecating humor seems to be fun for these guys, then I'm sure they find no problem making a comedy. I just hope they remember that cancer isn't fun for everyone. It wasn't, and still isn't, for me.

    Set Rogan is NOT funny.

I think needs to go away for a while. I am tired of him.

Isnt fanboys a cancer comedy? I think this movie is a good idea. One of my best friends learned he had cancer at 26. Something that relates to him and is funny is a good thing that we can enjoy with him.
  • Christ. WILL REISER. Not Paul Reiser. Come on. And I've read the script and it's the shit.

Yawn. Seth's the new dork guru. Every little thing he does, you people jock. I guess him and Kevin Smith working together is like Scorsese and DeNiro for the nerd set. Pass.
  • The problem with cancer is that it isn’t synonymous with a time period it’s on going.. it’s like having a comedy about AIDS. Sure it might be really funny, but personally I think the world can only take so much South Park before they say, “that’s enough!” directors and writers should try being serious for once about the issues of our generation.

“laugh and the worlds laughs with you…” <— maybe not.

Will had testicular cancer, about a 95% cure rate, 1% of all cancers,he got out easy, now he's trying to make money from it.My dad's dying of lung and liver cancer and i can't see any humor in it.Why not do a comedy about AIDS or 9/11 or incest.Hope Seth gets put into the don't touch basket for this crock of shit..
  • I was Will's roommate while he wrote the script. He did not have ball cancer, and I'm not going to spill anything about it. Sorry your dad is sick dude. My father has been battling prostate cancer for seven years now. I think you will actually dig this movie, and so will anyone that has a personal relationship to cancer. It has a serious undertone and its not a Judd Apatow comedy. Max Powers, screenjunkies.com
