The Ghostbuster’s Ecto-1 For Sale

Someone is selling a restored Ghostbuster’s Ecto-1 which was used in Universal Studios Florida for over fifteen years.

“This car is one of three Sony/MGM authorized Ghostbusters 1959 Cadillac Miller Meteor Ecto-1. There are the two original cars used in the films and this one built exclusively for the Universal Studios Theme parks. This car has a rich history and thousands of fans have been photographed with this car. The only major change made to this car was the roof rack. We modified the roof rack to resemble the screen used Sony Ecto-1 original car. Other upgrades are cosmetic and mechanically it’s very sound.”

So if you have $45,000 to spare, check out the auction on ebay.com.

I see it has gotten upgraded...years ago you used to be able to start it with a butter knife...back in the days of the old Ghostbusters show. We used to joke about driving it to a local drive through on break...never did...now if I only had $45K laying around

45k for the glory of riding around urban areas with the Ghostbuster's siren? Extreme want. And police interaction.

Nice. I worked at the Men In Black ride at Universal a few summers ago, and I think we had that car parked out back behind our ride. I know I walked by it a few times. They had the sick Triceratops from Jurassic Park somewhere on the property too.

If I could muster up that kind of dough I would buy that car in a heartbeat. So sweet and straight P.I.M.P.

I would buy it so me and Charlie Hodge could drive around Memphis and pick up unsuspecting 15 year olds. Then we'd take em back to Graceland for a dose of peanut butter pie and a tall glass of Memphis Mafia juice, courtesy of my ripe 70 year old genetalia! TCB.

I had picture taken with that car back in 1995 at Universal. It looks soo beautiful. I would love to cruise in that car, show it off, and pick up ladies! I wish I had $45,000! That car has a Chevrolet 350 V8 instead of the original Cadillac 390 because of availablity of parts. Universal did that to the car so engine parts would be easier to find. Any rich people out there wanna help me out?

Growing up in the late 80's there were 2 or 3 ghostbuster cars that "lived" by the post office in Springfield, Oregon...

Well, from the look of it, it's not the car I built in 1989. My vehicle was featured in an issue of Car Craft Mag. that year and made appearances around the country at car shows, Hardees restaurants and many childrens hospitals. My Ectomobile was autographed by Dan , Harold, Bill and Ernie, on the front headliner. I sold this vehicle to George Barris in 1994. My small appearance in the second film with Judy Ovitz in GB 2 was one of my most memorable events. Don't get Slimed out there, and let's hope for a GB 3.
Happy Halloween! Sincerely P.M.,A.K.A. Dr. Ray Stantz
